Hey, well, good afternoon. It's good to be with you today. Boy, we got a full show. Hope you can hang out with me for the next three hours. If you can't, be sure and download the podcast. It'll be up after the broadcast today. And of course, you can stream us on the mobile app. If you haven't downloaded that yet, do that. You'll have crystal clear reception and you'll get every word. Something extraordinary is happening in the world of artificial intelligence. I've been talking about this for a long time. There's been a lot of news, though, hasn't there? If you turn on your news this morning or yesterday, we're getting Indian dated. The very people racing to build the most powerful AI systems on Earth, they're now saying the race may be moving too quickly. And again, we spoke about this a little bit earlier when news came out from this guy, Coxen. You remember him? Jacob Copps Coxen? He was just another regular guy working for an AI company, right? Until last week, he was training the last versions of the AI models, and first at OpenAI, then in Anthropic. And he would have remained that regular guy, except last Wednesday, he started a new X-page, and his first post was saying that he was resigning from Anthropic because the companies are, quote, gambling with our lives. And he got a lot of buzz, became very popular as a result. A lot of people said, what's going on? It's really raised the veil. The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us by the end of the decade. In fact, I was just on, I got an X-post earlier today. I didn't have a chance to read it because I was in the chapel. But I just saw the headline. There was another person who has resigned, supposedly, because of the fear of AI and what it could potentially do from another one of these major companies. I don't know whether it was from Musk's company or where it was. But his warning caught a lot of people's attention. Then a lot of questions started being raised. Where did this guy come from? Why were the people who first responded to this post financially tied to the organization?

They want to see artificial intelligence fail. Then an investigative reporter named Parker Thier did some digging and found all kinds of issues that Cox's post raised, including the fact that it showed up on Axe only 18 minutes after the Wall Street Journal had published a story about his resignation. So all of a sudden, Democrats in Congress now are calling for all kinds of regulations to be imposed on the industry. President Trump today has been saying, It's a hoax. This is all a hoax. You know, it's overblown. The head of NVIDIA is saying the same thing, that, yeah, the science doesn't support this. So what is the truth? What's the truth behind this? I'm a fan of AI. I don't want to kill us, though.

There are some issues, and we'll talk to Dr. Joseph Vukov about it coming up here in a second. There was a recent poll, though, let me share this with you, that shows that AI doesn't sit well with the general American public. The majority is saying that the only thing that they trust it for is its recipes. Is this China wanting to catch up? Are they helping to foment this fear in our country? What's weird is that there are people in the industry looking for a slowdown in its progress, and of course, each of the CEOs can easily do that without government regulation. So it's kind of a perplexing quagmire of parties and individuals and companies and countries and people approaching this. The issue we're facing as a nation is what China is doing with the technology. And I'm very concerned about China just because of how totalitarian they are in the way that they rule, in the way they surveil, with their social credit scoring. There's evidence that the Chinese are stealing our technology, just like they've done with a lot of other things. I mean, this IP theft is terrible.

And, you know, if they get ahead of us in this race, it could be really problematic, not just for the Chinese people, but for the world. So it raises a number of questions, you know? Questions such as, you know, is...

Can human beings remain in control of what we're creating? And if the answer isn't absolutely certain, should we slow down, as a lot of these people are now warning Dario Amodai, or Amo-Dai, I forget how you say his last name, his name is Amodai. He's the CEO of Anthropic, one of the companies in the forefront of this. He's publicly called for a slowdown. He says the advancement of this AI, you know, we've got to pump the brakes on it.
