This week Jason Howell and Jeff Jarvis try to untangle a news cycle where nearly every AI story fed into the next one.

Insurance isn't one size fits all, and shopping for it shouldn't feel like squeezing into something that just doesn't fit.
That's why drivers have enjoyed Progressive's Name Your Price tool for years. With the Name Your Price tool, you tell them what you want to pay, and they show you options that fit your budget. Enough hunting for discounts, trying to calculate rates, and tinkering with coverages.

**Jason Howell** (0:22)
Maybe you're picking out your very first policy, or maybe you're just looking for something that works better for you and your family.

**SPEAKER_1** (0:29)
Either way, they make it simple to see your options. No guesswork, no surprises.

**Jeff Jarvis** (0:34)
Ready to see how easy and fun shopping for car insurance can be?

Coming up next, Jeff Jarvis and I dig into the wild and woolly week of AI all over the map. We're talking Open Source, Kimi K3, Nvidia's tendrils in all of it, Washington accusing China of stealing from Anthropic, OpenAI's own employees urging the government to slow things down. I feel like I'm touching on a tenth of what we're talking about. It's so interconnected. It gets confusing really quick, thank God for Jeff Jarvis because he makes so much sense out of all of it. Also, smart glasses, a little bit of a backlash going on there, and a few other things coming up next on the AI Inside podcast.
What's going on, everybody? Welcome to another episode of AI Inside, the show where we take a look at the AI that is layered throughout the world of technology. All the AI stories are layered throughout each other. I'm telling you, this rundown was hard to put together because I feel like every flipping story feeds into every other story. But we're going to get through it because there's a lot to talk about. I'm one of your hosts, Jason Howell, joined as always by Jeff Jarvis. How are you doing, Jeff?

**Jeff Jarvis** (2:12)
Hey, good to see you, boss.

**Jason Howell** (2:15)
Great to see you too. Great to see you too.

**Jeff Jarvis** (2:17)
Your podcasting machine.

**Jason Howell** (2:19)
Yeah, it's another one of those weeks. I do another podcast that I do is called Daily Tech News Show with my longtime friend in podcasting, Tom Merritt. I'm very lucky and fortunate to be able to be one of his writer, producer, hosts on his staff. When he goes out of town, I end up taking his slots, but it's a daily show. That's like five extra days.
I'm feeling a little mentally, not drained, maybe a little drained, but podcasting, it's a very mentally challenging thing to do one after the other.

**Jeff Jarvis** (2:57)
It really is, yeah.

**Jason Howell** (2:58)
It's like my brain needs to take a nap.

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:00)
And as much as I love to hear myself talking, oh, I do, you know, it's challenging.

**Jason Howell** (3:06)
Sometimes you get to the other side of those really challenging podcast days, and I'm just like, I don't want to talk to anybody. I'm going to turn on a movie and shut up, and you aren't going to get very much from me, I'm sorry.

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:21)
That sounds nice.

**Jason Howell** (3:22)
Yeah, that does sound nice. Hey, I want to congratulate you, first of all, because that Nate B. Jones interview was excellent.

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:30)
Very nice of you.

**Jason Howell** (3:32)
On intelligent machines, people should definitely check it out.

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:35)
So the funny thing that made him laugh most was, you and I were trying to get hold of Nate B. Jones, they were trying to get hold of Nate B. Jones, we were all trying to get hold of Nate B. Jones. Finally, Leo asked his AI, and that came up with the email.

**Jason Howell** (3:46)
And who knows where that AI went down into the ocean and came up with a license plate that was sitting on the bottom of the ocean and happened to have the contact information.

**Jeff Jarvis** (3:58)
He's really very nice. He's so knowledgeable and a very nice guy.

**Jason Howell** (4:02)
Yeah, it was cool. It was cool because what we're used to seeing is the TikTok slash YouTube slash sub stack writing side of Nate, very directed and everything. And it was kind of cool to see him a little more relaxed. You know, not that he's not relaxed in his videos, but it's, you know, it kind of humanizes a little bit more. That's what podcast is really good at.
