We are your hosts, Adam Nagus and Carly Wilson, delivering the latest scoop from the digital realm.
Accenture has told many employees that company spending on Claude will now be capped at $29 per person each month. Some employees had reportedly been using as much as $1,000 monthly and are now seeking ways to preserve their previous access. The move reflects a broader pullback as companies reassess heavy spending on AI tools. Businesses are finding that employees can rapidly consume AI tokens, prompting tighter limits on usage. The policy is particularly notable because Accenture has urged clients to invest heavily in artificial intelligence.

OpenAI has announced deeper integration between ChatGPT and Google Chrome. An updated ChatGPT extension can now analyze users' OpenTabs and answer questions based on their content. The Assistant can also control tabs to send messages, fill out forms and download files. It can help users organize and group large collections of OpenTabs. The update also adds a sidebar interface for accessing ChatGPT within Chrome.
US technology companies are investing billions in forward deployed engineers to help customers implement artificial intelligence. Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, OpenAI and Google have all expanded programs that place specialist engineers directly alongside clients. The shift reflects a growing challenge for businesses as legacy infrastructure and practical applications, not model capability, now often limit AI adoption. OpenAI has committed $4 billion to its program, while AWS plans to spend $1 billion and Anthropic aims to train 10,000 specialist engineers by the end of 2027
Research by Lightcast found that advertised US roles rose from about 200 in 2023 and 24 to 1,200 in 2025 During the first nine months of 2026, the number climbed to 7,300, marking another sixfold year over year increase. Consultancies including Deloitte, Accenture and KPMG accounted for three of the four leading employers, suggesting they are becoming central to AI deployment. Researchers say rising wages indicate intense competition for a limited pool of talent. The companies that succeed may ultimately be those that use human engineers most effectively to turn advanced AI into practical business results.

Apple CEO John Ternus says Siri does not need to surpass ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude in raw intelligence to succeed. Instead, Apple is focusing on using the personal information stored across iPhones to make Siri more useful in everyday tasks. The redesigned assistant can connect data from supported apps, including messages, emails, calendars, photos, notes and health information.
Apple's approach relies partly on Google's Gemini technology, a notable partnership for a company known for tightly controlling its ecosystem.
Unlike more autonomous AI agents, Siri is being designed for predictable interactions rather than acting as a companion or independently completing complex tasks. Apple says requests are processed on devices when possible, while more demanding tasks use its privacy-focused cloud infrastructure. The strategy could give Apple an advantage through its deep integration with iOS, but only if Siri can accurately and securely use personal context. ChatGPT and Gemini are also expanding their app integrations, increasing pressure on Apple to deliver after years of delays. The central question is whether Siri can become useful enough to keep iPhone users from turning to rival AI assistants.
