Welcome to the Teaching Ministry of Jubilee Church International. Jubilee is devoted to making disciples, winning the loss to Christ, building strong families, and taking the gospel to the nations.
Open your Bibles and join us as the presence of the Holy Spirit helps us to grow a little deeper.
**Woody** (0:28)
How many of you were here and a part of helping build this building? Raise your hand.
**SPEAKER_1** (0:35)
Yeah.
**Woody** (0:36)
Amen.
**SPEAKER_3** (0:36)
We got some photos, some of you.
**Woody** (0:39)
And y'all remember when we come into this building, it was just a big, open, dirty warehouse. None of these walls, none of, I mean, it was just a big, ugly warehouse with big spiders and cobwebs and come on.
And we were scraping tile and then we encountered some conflicts, didn't we? We discovered the roof was leaking everywhere. And everybody had chalk. I don't know who handed out the chalk. Probably John. Handed out chalk so everybody could go around and say, here's a leak, pastor. Here's a leak, pastor. Here's a leak, pastor. I was like, stop, stop, stop. Take the chalk away.
What are we gonna do? Well, we're gonna stop hanging sheetrock. We're gonna cover what we got with plastic. And then we're gonna trust God, figure it out. And I'm telling you what, God really stretched me. Because I was like, okay, God, did I get us in a mess, or did I really hear you?
**SPEAKER_1** (1:53)
That's the word right there.
**Woody** (1:56)
Did I get us in a mess, or did I really hear you? Because sometimes when you hear God, and you actually act upon what God has said, do, it might look like a mess at first. Because there's a number of folks, come on, when God brings them into the house, they look like a mess.
But you guys got to do, trust God. Amen.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:24)
And look what God did.
**Woody** (2:27)
Brand new roof. $98,000 roof.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:36)
God built the building.
**Woody** (2:39)
In 90 days, we had walls up, plumbing in. In 90 days, we were ready to move in.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:51)
Praise God.
**Woody** (2:52)
And when I tell other people that, and other pastors, they're like, nuh-uh.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:57)
Uh-huh.
**Woody** (3:04)
But this building, when we first walked into it, and there's been others, I mean, when we moved into the building on the other end of the Mall Mill Boulevard, it was like, okay, what's this going to look like? I'm like, God will show us what it's supposed to be, how we're supposed to lay it out.
**SPEAKER_4** (3:21)
God will do it.
**Woody** (3:23)
The one down there on the other end of MacArthur, I mean, gosh, we worked that building so many ways. We, oh my goodness. But each time, it looked like, mm, I'm just going to tell you, from a leadership perspective, it looked like, mm, maybe I've got us in a mess.
**SPEAKER_1** (3:43)
That's good, Pastor. Come on. That's a word. Come on.
**Woody** (3:47)
But that's sometimes what our lives look like.
**SPEAKER_3** (3:50)
So right now, if your life is a little bit of a mess, if you just let God, let go and let God, That's right.
**Woody** (3:57)
That's right. He'll make a monument out of your mess.
**SPEAKER_1** (4:03)
That's right.
**Woody** (4:11)
Now, I was an 80s kid, and there was an old 80s group called Mylon Lefebvre and Broken Heart. Anybody ever heard of Mylon Lefebvre and Broken Heart? I think Buster brought them to concert one year.
And there was an old song they sang that they didn't write. There was an old hymn. Maybe you've heard of it. It says, I'm working on a building. It's a true foundation. I'm holding up the bloodstain banner for my Lord, for my Lord. I'm never gonna get tired, tired, tired, working on this building. I'm going up to heaven someday to get my reward. Thank you, Brian, for a little rhythm. You got me. Thank you. Oh man, Mylon, Mylon Lefebvre and Broken Hearts, they took that song, they jazzed it up. Man, it was, I loved that song.
Working on a building, but you know what Jesus said? Jesus said that he came to build a new temple for the dwelling of God's power and presence. He came to work on a building, a new building. He said in John chapter 2 19, that he would build it in just three days.
Three days. The disciples were confused. The Pharisees were angry. They called it blasphemy. The disciples said, you're crazy.
And y'all remember Jesus going into the temple. He, he weaved that whip, went in there, and he flipped them tables over, and he made a mess of what man had built.
