So I've been thinking a lot about what it means to continue doing Yah Lah But. In these crazy times, there's always some dire news about how humans are going to be replaced, and how the media industry will be the first to be made redundant with AI taking over everything. But the funny thing is, a lot of listeners still come up to me with a message to keep doing what you're doing. I guess amidst all this chaos and uncertainty, sometimes we need to huddle together and make sense of the craziness in this world. Together, that's all we need to get through the day. So, do us a favor. If Yah Lah But has ever helped you feel a little less alone in this crazy world, help us hit the follow button on this app. It means a lot to us. Thanks for listening.

What's up, everybody?

Haresh (0:41)

Welcome to another episode of Yah Lah.

Terence (0:43)

Ba ba ba ba.

Haresh (0:44)

Your Thrice Weekly Podcast, where we talk about the hottest news with a touch of what, Terence?

Terence (0:49)

Good old humor.

Haresh (0:50)

Good old humor, man. Yeah. It's that time of the month.

It's parliament.

Terence (0:55)

Yes.

Haresh (0:56)

But we will get to that.

Terence (0:58)

Okay. I thought you were talking about that time of what? What time of the month? But yes, it's parliament.

Haresh (1:03)

But yeah, before that, how has the start of October been, man? Are you enjoying the cloudy skies?

Terence (1:10)

No, the haze is horrible. The haze is horrible. Like, it just gets in the way of plans. I can deal with very heavy rain and all that, but I can't deal with the haze.

It just makes it tough to enjoy anything outside.

Haresh (1:27)

So, it impacts you, like you can feel it.

Terence (1:29)

Yeah, I'm already in my 40s already. Like, stuff disproportionately affects my eyes and everything.

Haresh (1:35)

Don't just blanket 40s, don't just blanket 40s.

Terence (1:38)

It's the truth, man. Don't deny. Don't be like a fellow 40-year-old guy.

Like, a guy who is in his 40s who is denying father time and then like complaining about it.

Haresh (1:50)

Denying father time? Oh, I thought you meant...

Terence (1:53)

He doesn't understand that, you know, the ultimate winner of everything is father time, right?

Haresh (1:57)

Yah Lah, yah Lah.

Terence (1:58)

And he's denying it and then, you know, at detriment to himself and his country.

Haresh (2:03)

I'm not denying it until like that, I'm just saying that. I mean, I'm not saying there's no impact. Of course, I can smell it. I can feel it in my throat. But I think I also feel like, let's say if I bring my doctor down for a walk, I don't know whether it's my insecurity or I feel like, would people look at me as an irresponsible parent or something? Because if we stay at home, I mean, also don't want to have the windows closed the whole day, right? So then if you let in a bit of air, then the air at home is the same as the air outside. And then it becomes like, if you're sitting here, is it different from sitting outside? So it just becomes a little confusing.

And it affects planning.

Terence (2:41)

Yeah, affects planning. I mean, obviously, you can't not go out. You can't not go walks or that.

Haresh (2:48)

But you minimize transport.

Terence (2:49)

But I mean, if you want to do like, I want to go for a run, like a proper run. But when I see the air outside, I'm like, Yah Lah, that is all going to be filtered into my lungs.

So I mean, I put away, put that aside for a bit.

Haresh (3:02)

But do you do like jog, run on the spot at home or anything? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jumping jacks.

Terence (3:06)

Calisthenics.

But I just got to be more careful. I think at this age, like, I mean, even just a couple of days ago, I got injured by mangosteen. I was trying to peel a mangosteen and somehow my nails got caught. And then now like my fingers are like slightly swollen, you know, because my nail got caught and everything. So I can't do weights also. I can't like lift heavy stuff right now. So I'm like literally at the age where peeling a mangosteen has an effect on my health.

Haresh (3:34)

I mean, I will say the one thing that I've noticed more is sometimes I just wake up in the morning and my ankle hurts. I don't know, was it the way I slept or sometimes even sitting on a chair like, just I wake up and I'm like, oh, shit, the ankle. And for a while, it lasts and I can't even walk it off.
