812: A Celebration of Jesus
Allen Jackson Ministries
October 8, 2026
In Revelation, Jesus is described as both the Lion of Judah and as a slain lamb. This deliberate paradox helps explain why Jesus is worthy of all our praise. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson teaches on Revelation, chapter 5.

I know you got one. It may be somebody you care about.
It may be a business. I don't know. But I can tell you in Jesus, God has made provision.
And He's given you access to His throne room. You've been justified, sanctified, forgiven. All claims against you have been canceled by the blood of Jesus.

I want to do something different with you tonight. I've been conscious for several days. I've had a, I really had a burden to pray for the people in the church. And I've been doing that. I like to walk and pray, and I've taken some extra time to do that. But I wanted to give you the tools. You see, we're walking through a unique season. Darkness and ungodliness is more brazen than I've remembered any time in my lifetime. There are other seasons in human history where it's been worse and darker. And I'm certain if I had lived in London when they were bombing it into complete rubble, you would have thought it was the end of the age. Or had you lived in Europe when they were rounding up the Jews? I mean, I can think of a lot of historic periods. But we're walking through a season where deception and dishonesty are very prevalent, where truth, as Isaiah said, truly has stumbled in the streets. And the impact of that in our lives and our families shows up in so many ways. And we need God's help. And we will not outthink evil or outstudy evil or outorganize evil. And I'm not against thinking, studying or organizing. But that's not our path forward. The only thing evil will yield to is a power greater than itself. And when Jesus came to present the kingdom of God, he didn't do it principally with just ideas. He did it with a demonstration of the power of God. They said, we've never seen anybody like this. He speaks with authority, not like the biblical teachers that they were accustomed to. He could speak to the wind and the waves. He spoke to demons. One of the things that truly caused his reputation to just expand rapidly was the authority over demonic activity that he showed. He healed the sick. I mean, it was a remarkable demonstration of the power of God. And it wasn't an expression, I don't believe, of his divinity. It was an expression of a human being in obedience to Almighty God, giving expression to the power of God in his generation. And I believe God is still doing that in the earth. My Bible says Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. He told his closest friends that the things they had seen him do, they would be able to do. And so I don't believe that miracles ceased when the last of the apostles stepped out of time. It doesn't mean that it eliminates all suffering. It doesn't mean that God's people don't walk through the shadowed valleys. We do. Jesus, as a miracle worker, didn't end all of the suffering in his generation when he went to the pools of Bethesda. It was covered, it was encircled by people who were sick and infirmed, and he healed one.
And John, when he put the mud on the blind man's eyes in Jerusalem and told him to go wash, there was one blind man that he healed in Jerusalem. So don't imagine that, because you believe in the supernatural power of God, that it eliminates all human suffering, but it gives you hope that God will intervene on your behalf. And what I want to give you tonight is a bit of a tool box. Kind of some biblical foundations for why I believe we've been given permission to invite God into our lives to do what only God can do in our lives. And it is independent upon me. My prayers are not more powerful than your prayers. If you understand what the word of God says and you will believe it and apply it, you will get the outcomes. Now the timing is not in our hands. Don't stamp your foot like a petulant child because God doesn't do what you want the moment you want it done.
My favorite time to talk about the supernatural power of God is when I need it the most.
