After years inside the lab forecasting where AI is headed, here's one insider's conclusion. A 70% chance this goes horribly wrong. And the thing that scares him the most is who ends up in control. The men building AI do not trust each other. It's an all out knife fight for the most powerful technology in human history. And the winner inherits a level of surveillance and control no king, no empire, and no government has ever held. So if the world they're building has no place for your job, your savings, or your vote, what exactly is left for you to own?
There is an answer. The men racing for the throne just can't see it yet. This is TruthBlock. I'm Hurley.
Let's mine truth.

The war is back on again. Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz closed until further notice. And ship crossings collapsed from 57 a day in late June to three in the last 24 hours. Then this morning, Trump declared America the guardian of the Hormuz Strait. Every ship that passes now pays the US 20% of its cargo, according to Trump. Markets got smoked at open this morning with 1.5 trillion wiped out in 10 hours. Korea is down almost 9%.
Gold is down, silver is down, and Bitcoin is down just 2.5%, one of the steadiest things on the board. Strategy also announced another $450 million added to its dollar war chest. They now have $3 billion in cash sitting next to 843,775 Bitcoin. That covers more than 2 years of dividends and interest without touching a single coin. The death spiral crowd keeps waiting for a 4-seller and Sailor keeps buying more runway. And the ETF bleeding may finally be over. After 9 straight weeks of outflows, which is the longest ever, ETFs finally flipped positive last week. Meanwhile, the share of Bitcoin untouched for 10 years just hit an all-time high. Every coin that the tours dumped in this bear market have landed in coins that never sell. And the depths of a bear market is when you never want to sell your Bitcoin. That's why the show was brought to you by Ledn. Ledn lets you borrow dollars against your Bitcoin, so when life sends you a bill in the middle of a crash, you can pay it without touching your stack. With Ledn, your collateral stays custody the whole time. It never gets loaned out and rates are posted up front. So while the war grabbed headlines, SpaceX quietly hit a new all time low, down 1.15 trillion in 17 trading sessions. And the hyperscalers have gone negative. The hyperscalers are the giant tech companies that run the internet's back end, like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Oracle. They spent 15 years printing a quarter trillion dollars a year in free cashflow. This year, that number goes negative for the first time on record, because they're pouring 725 billion dollars into chips and data centers racing to build AI. Now, we've covered what that race did to Bitcoin. The AI trade became the fastest horse on the track and pulled capital out of everything else, Bitcoin included. But today's question is harder.
What is all that money actually buying? Well, Daniel Kokotalo can tell you. He was a forecaster inside OpenAI. When he quit in 2024, the exit paperwork demanded he never criticize the company or lose 2 million dollars in equity, which was 80% of his family's net worth. He refused to sign, fully expecting to lose it all.
OpenAI backed down after the story blew up. His 2021 AI predictions were accurate enough to catch the attention of Vice President JD Vance. On diary of a CEO this week, he was asked why the average person should care, and he skipped the sci-fi and went straight to power.

There's the question of who controls the AIs, right? When there's a couple of corporations that have made these super intelligences and are using them to automate all the jobs. Well, that's a lot of power. That's a lot of money. It's a lot of political power. They'll have the best strategists, the best advisors.
They'll think faster. Militarily, the countries that has these AIs will be able to absolutely wipe the floor with all the other countries. The AIs themselves, it's a single point of failure, like central control system where the CEO of Anthropic, Dario, he coined this phrase, the country of geniuses in the data center. That was his phrase to describe what they're trying to build.
