Y'all, my friend Heather is back. I'm so excited. And so y'all, and then we're-
**Heather** (0:04)
We haven't gone that long.
**Christy Young** (0:05)
Well, it just feels like too long. We've both been slammed.
**Heather** (0:08)
About four weeks.
**Christy Young** (0:09)
Well, see what y'all don't know is, when we record, we record like three episodes. So the reality is we haven't recorded in like five or six weeks.
**Heather** (0:17)
Yeah, it's been-
**Christy Young** (0:18)
Because we did three at one time, and then I actually got to like sneak and record with my husband, one or two, because she was slammed. But it kind of was fun and sweet and helps us to prepare for something else we're doing too.
So that was awesome. Anyway, but now we're missing my body. Yes, I'm so glad. And then y'all today, we have such a fun episode that's perfect for us to do together because it's all about how we are perfect Christian moms.
**Heather** (0:42)
I think so. Not-
**Christy Young** (0:44)
No, totally joking, totally joking. In fact, could not be further from the truth. Further from the truth. Y'all today is all about the mistakes that we still make. We're going to talk about our top five mistakes that we still make as day to day.
**Heather** (0:56)
This morning.
**Christy Young** (0:57)
Yes, this morning, hours ago, the top five mistakes we still make as Christian moms. And we just hope this episode encourages you because y'all, we are all in the trenches together. We all love the Lord so much, but we are super faithfully unfaithful and super imperfect.
**Heather** (1:16)
So sometimes when you're a Christian mom and you end up like us doing, I guess a podcast, it can seem like to others and even compare myself to Christy, which is not right. It may look like we have it all together.
**Christy Young** (1:32)
You know we don't have it all together.
**Heather** (1:33)
I know, but that is not the truth.
**Christy Young** (1:35)
No, not at all.
**Heather** (1:36)
Don't ever think that because we come on here and we talk about the Lord and that we do a podcast that we have it all together, because y'all, we are faithfully at his feet.
All day, every day. Like breath, moment by moment, we are at his feet. This morning, it was so chaotic.
We just had a lot of things towards to get done. And it was like wash day, so it's time to change sheets. So I'm like trying to get them to change sheets. We also had to move the chicken pen. That's like a big deal. It's like in the back, way back in the back. And it was just a big deal and all these things going on. I'm like, me, I'm checking off a task list. And no, I'm like losing my cool. I'm like not praying, like I should be not taking deep breaths. I was taking deep breaths, but it was deep breaths frustration. I'm like, just chill me out, Lord. So this is just so convicting. Don't ever feel like me and Christy have it together because we are faithfully at his feet.
**Christy Young** (2:30)
No.
**Heather** (2:31)
And I need it more. This was just so refreshing. I don't know, it just fine tunes me up. I'm so much in need of a Savior. And I'm so thankful that he loves us and that we have him to cling to and that he can help us in those moments when we're going crazy this morning. I'm huffing and puffing and saying things harshly, and a God that forgives, and then children, y'all, repentance just on display. I had to apologize this morning to ask for forgiveness for my harsh tongue, and just so focused on, we gotta wash the sheets, we gotta mop the day, and all this stuff. So like, okay, take a breath, you know?
So just want to encourage you, moms, that we don't have it all together either. And that's why we do those things, just to help and encourage you.
**Christy Young** (3:11)
Well, and I think we want to be a voice in the wilderness too, because so much of like motherhood, Christian motherhood content on social media or just that exists and floats out there on the internet, makes it look like if you're a good Christian mom, then and you're faithful, then you have a very peaceful home. It's never unorganized, it's always clean, it's always well put together.
Your children are always obedient. In fact, the minute you discipline one of them or get on to them, they cry with tears of repentance. And we, one, sometimes, stuff like that happens, and my home is fully organized, and my kids are repentant, and other times, and most of the time, frankly, my house. Dude, we reclaim it like three times a day because it blows up faithfully. My kids, man, we are bent towards sin in our house for sure, and that I am constantly trying to spring the light of the truth of God's Word into disciplining moments all throughout the day. But you guys, there is real life, and there is this motherhood content that exists out on, I don't know, in the universe. You know, and I just feel like it can be super discouraging if you feel like, man, does that mean I'm not faithful? Because my home doesn't look like that. My home doesn't. No, the reality is a faithful mom is not a flawless mom. And that's what we want to encourage you guys. You guys, a faithful, a faithful Christian mother is a repentant one. It's one who aims to walk with Jesus and to bring our kids, bring your kids back to the cross as they sin against each other because they faithfully will as you sin against them, which you faithfully will as they sin against you. You guys, can we all run to the cross aiming to give the grace that we've been given from Jesus to our children and then trying to encourage them and show them how to give grace to one another?
