Watch What Crappens Well, hello and welcome to Watch What Crappens.
Ronnie Karam (0:24)
This is part two of a two-part recap. If you're like, hey, wait a minute, I didn't hear part one. Guys, it's because we put out a lot of recaps. Go back and listen to part one, okay? It's before this one. Bye, enjoy the show. So then Wendy is meeting up with Robin for a peacemaking lunch.
So Wendy is like, wow, this restaurant is great.
Carter wanted to go to the mall, so we would just hear, it was on his bucket list, he said. Robin starts cracking up. The kid has a bucket list, come on. Give yourself a little credit, give yourself a few years.
Ben Mandelker (1:05)
So Robin is like, her vibe is very much like, and she even says so, I'm at peace. Her hair is beautifully swept across to the side. She's just like, easy, breezy, beautiful Robin. And she's there to basically be like, well, I was fired because it was too toxic and I apparently was very, very toxic. So I'm nice now, I'm back to being nice. I'm back, I have a reset.
So we can be friends.
SPEAKER_4 (1:37)
It's like, but I did notice that at the Wizards game, you kind of ignore it.
Ronnie Karam (1:41)
And she's like, yeah, I turned my back on you. Is that what you noticed? Because I literally just turned my back on you.
SPEAKER_4 (1:45)
She's like, yeah, I mean, are you mad or something?
Ronnie Karam (1:48)
She's like, well, I just didn't know what to think, Robin, especially given the energy from your podcast. And so we see a clip again, of Reasonably Shady, where Robin is talking about Wendy's mugshot and being like, well, that was really sinister looking.
SPEAKER_1 (2:03)
I don't know about that.
SPEAKER_4 (2:06)
So Robin is now like, well, when I think of where we left off, there weren't any unresolved issues. It was just toxicity in the group. And I think toxicity just didn't really allow us to interact as normal people should. So it's a clean slate for me.
Ben Mandelker (2:22)
It's like, oh, okay, okay.
So you coming for her and Eddie and all the million other things for several years, you decide it's a clean slate. But Wendy's like, sure.
Ronnie Karam (2:33)
That's what people, when people fuck you over, I love when the person that fucks you over is like, clean slate, let's just start over. What do you get to decide it's a clean slate?
Ben Mandelker (2:45)
I kind of feel like what Robin is doing is saying, hey, I'm back and I do a podcast with Gisele and I love Gisele, but I'm going to, for the purpose of the show, I won't be automatically buddy buddy with her, at least I'm going to pretend that way.
Ronnie Karam (3:02)
Yes, I'll pretend to like semi turn on Gisele, to keep my spot.
Ben Mandelker (3:08)
So Wendy goes with it. Yeah, she needs allies.
Ronnie Karam (3:11)
Wendy always goes with it though. They always come for Wendy and then Wendy's always like, okay, I'll forgive you. And then they do it again with them.
Ben Mandelker (3:19)
Yeah, exactly.
Ronnie Karam (3:21)
But you're right, she needs allies. Because even she says later, she's like, I only have like one or two friends in this group.
Ben Mandelker (3:28)
Yeah. And the other truth is this, I used to love Robin, believe it or not. I used to think Robin was great. It's just like her last few seasons, she just really, she did get caught up in the toxicity. And so it is nice to see her having this kind of reset. And now I feel like the Robin that I used to love is like back on the show.
And I'm also, by the way, I am very much like Wendy. I often am like, okay, reset.
SPEAKER_5 (3:51)
Great.
Ben Mandelker (3:52)
The pitch is that this is Robin's personality for the season. Great, I'm on board.
SPEAKER_5 (3:58)
Don't just run with it.
Ronnie Karam (3:59)
Yeah, I'll go with it. I'll roll with it.
Ben Mandelker (4:01)
Yeah.
Ronnie Karam (4:02)
So Robin gets an Aji tuna salad, which Wendy is horrified by, because it's like eating cooch. So Robin's like, oh, that's hilarious. That you really just don't understand Aji, huh? Okay, so anyway, now that we're friends, tell me about you and Eddie.
Are you guys okay? And Wendy kind of looks at her a minute, but then she's like, well, fuck it. I'll just, you know, open up to her. So she says, you know, it was really rough. And he's been really patient because he's just used to me being pissed basically at him. And she's like, Robin's like, well, what is he on pins and needles? He's like, yeah, it's be a TST for me, Robin. And so Robin, of course, immediately goes into her confessional and is like, I'm really surprised she's being this open, but it sounds like maybe she's blaming Eddie already.
