Below Deck OG is back and in Thailand this time to welcome some Southern Charm offshoots trying to sell us on patterns. The new cast is stacked with a bunch of new dummies and Frasier is back with a spray tan and a very long todo list.

Well, hello, and welcome to What What Crappens? A podcast for all the crap we love to talk about on Ye Olde Braves. I'm Ronnie. That's Ben over there.

SPEAKER_2 (0:30)

Hello, Ben.

Ben Mandelker (0:32)

Hi, Ronnie. How's it going?

Ronnie Karam (0:35)

Good. Getting ready to travel to Minneapolis for this weekend's shows. We're going to Minneapolis and Detroit. In Minneapolis, we are going, I'm just gonna keep saying Minneapolis until I fall. Minneapolis! Minneapolis, Minneapolis, Minneapolis.

We're going to be recapping Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in Minneapolis. And then in Detroit on Sunday, October 18th, we will be doing Real Housewives of Orange County.

Following that, in November, we're gonna be in Philly, Washington DC, and Dallas, Austin, and Houston. Then we're going to Nashville, Clearwater, Fort Lauderdale, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Denver, Charleston, Atlanta, Seattle, Vancouver, Portland, Toronto, Boston. And we're gonna end up at the Golden Crappies on Broadway in New York City, Thursday, February 25th. So lots of shows coming up. Go get your tickets. You can find links and calendar over at watchwhatcrappens.com.

Ben Mandelker (1:38)

Yes, Queen.

Ronnie Karam (1:41)

Yes, Queen. It is getting chilly here in Los Angeles.

I'm a chilly dilly. I'm wearing a little hoodie. I've just turned on the heater for the first time.

Ben Mandelker (1:53)

Yeah.

Ronnie Karam (1:53)

Times are changing.

Ben Mandelker (1:55)

It's getting cold in LA, but it's getting hot on Below Deck because they've sent Below Deck down to Thailand. By the way, I always feel so bad for these crews whenever they get sent to Thailand. I mean, I love Thailand. It's a beautiful, beautiful place, but it is hot and humid and I feel like they send these crews there during the peak humidity season.

Because apparently, when I went back in 2019, I think I went at the end of October, which is when the summer craziness in terms of heat and humidity abates. And I get the feeling that they send this crew out to Thailand during peak heat, because it's probably cheaper. And I just have a hard time with it, because it's a season of watching these people sweat through their shirts. And that makes me just inherently uncomfortable.

Ronnie Karam (2:49)

Yeah, people get really sweaty on this show. It's a lot, you know? And the new chef is a big guy, and he's like, are you fucking kidding me?

She's like, what? It is hot as hell. I mean, the first episode, he's about to fall over. And I don't blame him. I'm right with him.

Ben Mandelker (3:04)

Yeah, it's uncomfortable. You know, Captain Sandy has it just right, because hers, Below Deck Med, it's really a very low probability she'll wind up in Thailand. I mean, you would think Below Deck Down Under would also not wind up in Thailand, but it is geographically closest there. And they've also chosen to be liberal with what Down Under means, because they send it to the Caribbean.

But like, man, if I get that call, guess what? You're going to Thailand. On the one hand, oh my God, amazing Thailand. On the other hand, I'm going to lose 70 pounds of water weight over the course of the next five days while I'm there. And that's scary.

Ronnie Karam (3:51)

I don't know. Water weight's like the most of the weight I lose ever. I feel like growing up, every time I lost any weight, my mom would say, oh, that's water weight.

Like kind of being mean about whatever weight I lost. And I was like, well, what's real weight? Weight is weight, okay?

Ben Mandelker (4:08)

Just get off my ass and get me some chocolate milk. The point is this, it's going to be a sweaty season and I feel the humidity of this new season. And I just want to say to those who were enlisted to shoot this show, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that you had to do this for us, but thank you.

Thank you for your kind, sweaty service.

Ronnie Karam (4:30)

Thank you, bunch of dummies. So whenever this show comes, it's fun because it's like a mystery.

Ben Mandelker (4:37)

Dummy's gorgeous. idiots get a real job.

SPEAKER_2 (4:40)

This is what you get.

Ben Mandelker (4:42)

Oh, you were chasing adventure. Well, congratulations. You could be sweating into a bucket when you could have just been working at Starbucks.

Ronnie Karam (4:49)

Yeah, all you wanted was some OnlyFans followers, and here you are sweating through your butt crack. Well, I hope it was worth it.

Yeah, Below Deck is like a mystery. Every time I turn it on, I think, who am I going to hate? And like, what guy is going to pretend he's so nice in the beginning and then turn out to be a total douchebag? So I'm always really excited to see what I'm guessing, like who I'm guessing and if it's correct. This time I just said they're all dicks, because I feel like that's the safest bet.
