Hello and welcome to Watch What Crappens, a podcast about all that crap on Brava that we just love to talk about. I'm Ben Mandelker.

Joining me here is the one and only Ronnie Karam. Hi Ronnie, how's it going?

Ronnie Karam (0:33)

Hello, what's going on with you?

Ben Mandelker (0:36)

Not much. We just got back from a whirlwind weekend in the Midwest. We were at Kansas City, we were in Kansas City, and we were also up in Chicago to kick off our In the Mix tour, which was so fun. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us. It was great seeing all your faces again. We haven't been on tour in a moment.

It was tremendous. If you want to get tickets to see us at a future date, go to watchwhatcrappens.com. Next week, we go to Minneapolis and to Detroit, two amazing, wonderful cities. And you guys always bring it. So come join us for that. We will have our, next week we'll decide what we're going to cover at those cities. But if there are anything like Kansas City and Chicago, it's going to be a great, great time. So thanks again for everyone who came out. You know, another thing that's so funny, by the way, Ronnie just put out a new newsletter that's on our Patreon. It's at patreon.com/watch what crappens. We have Crappy Hour tonight. If you listen to this in time, that's going to be at 5.3 West Coast time. You won't, you won't. This will not be at the time.

Ronnie Karam (1:41)

It's already 3.3 West Coast time. We just walked in from the airport, the airport.

Ben Mandelker (1:45)

Yeah. We got on the plane, we flew across the country, and now we're on the microphones.

You know, it was so funny that we, I totally meant to bring up the Kansas City show, but I didn't. But I have to say to anyone who watched our interview on the local news, we actually went on to the local news in Kansas City, and it was so hilariously awkward because we were both on it. But for some reason, Ronnie- I was gonna say we didn't both go on there. Yeah. I don't know what you're talking about. We were both on the Zoom, but Ronnie's feed did not get sent in, and we both thought that this was a pre-roll. We didn't realize we're on live television.

And so they're asking questions. And so normally when Ronnie and I do press, we informally trade on and off with questions more or less. And so the anchor who was lovely asked me a question, I responded, and then she asked another question. And so I don't say anything because it's like- and Ronnie starts to respond, and you get maybe a sentence out, and then she just starts talking over you. And I was like, oh, wow. And then it happened a few times, then you start talking over her. And I was like, something's going on here. And then it turns out she didn't even- she couldn't hear you. So what- and it was on live TV, and you weren't even on the TV. Or see you. So what happened was anyone who was watching this broadcast, was watching me on screen with her, and she would ask a question, and I just stared at her and smiled. So she's like, yeah, I mean, this city is crazy with Taylor Swift mania, isn't that right? And I just smiled at her like.

Ronnie Karam (3:11)

And I'm just yapping on my end, like making jokes. And I would like credit for the amount of work that I will put into making somebody laugh at the same joke. Like if she didn't respond, so I was like, I'm going to give her the same damn joke 10 times in a row. And I was over here by the third time I said the same thing. I'm doing flaps like tech dancing over here.

And there was like, I don't think you can hear her. She said, oh, God, I thought it was my questions.

Ben Mandelker (3:37)

She thought she was like, insulting me or something. She thought like, like if I didn't like the question, she's gonna stare and smile and just like not respond. So it was so awkward. But for me, it was like a normal Zoom because I could see you and you were, and you had a really, your joke was funny. It was about the cookies. You're like, well, our goal is to have a cookie made out of us. And, but she couldn't, so she just thought I was stonewalling her. And probably everyone at home just thought I was doing that. And it was, I am like mortified in retrospect, but it's also the funniest shit of all time. So, and she was a sweetheart, but I felt so bad for you, Ronnie, because then you were just stuck on the sidelines and it's not fair. So, you know, thanks for-
