Watch What Crappens

September 17, 2026

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City returns with the women gathering around Mary amidst immense tragedy. It’s a highly emotional premiere that promises cast unity, but breadcrumbs of drama remind us that we’ll be back to petty squabbles soon enough. Hosted on Acast.

Speakers Ben Mandelker, Ronnie Karam

Hello, and welcome to Watch What Crappens, a podcast about all that crap on Bravo that we just love to talk about. I'm Ben Mandelker, and joining me today is the irrepressible and joyful Ronnie Karam.

Ronnie Karam (0:33)

Don't try to repress me.

Ben Mandelker (0:36)

You will not be repressed. How are you doing there, Ronnie?

Ronnie Karam (0:40)

Hi, good. How are you doing? I'm in Acas, but I moved from the glamorous studio to a little meeting booth. It looks like prison.

Ben Mandelker (0:47)

But I think it looks cool.

It's cool, like nice neutral gray background. It's better than mine.

Ronnie Karam (0:54)

A little office-y background. Yeah.

Ben Mandelker (0:57)

And the childhood bedroom. Still recording from there. Today will be my last day from the childhood bedroom. And it's the day after.

Ronnie Karam (1:03)

That's exciting.

Ben Mandelker (1:04)

I know. You know, we always love that hotel Wi-Fi. You never know what you're going to get.

Ronnie Karam (1:10)

A little sketch pad in here. Look, someone made a palm tree.

Ben Mandelker (1:14)

Well, well, well.

Perhaps secrets, if you will. It's just a fellow, maybe it's a fellow A-cast podcaster. Like, well, now we know what the next episode of Iris podcasting could be about, palm trees.

Ronnie Karam (1:29)

I think I'm the only podcaster. He's like, can I use your meeting booths to record in? We record 20 hours. Whenever they schedule me here, they're like, okay, well, we've got you in there for an hour and a half. I was like, oh, this is Watch What Crappens. It's no hour and a half here.

SPEAKER_3 (1:42)

Okay. It's going to be six hours.

Ben Mandelker (1:45)

That's correct.

SPEAKER_3 (1:45)

Get me in the meeting room.

Ben Mandelker (1:47)

Well, today is a very big day. Today, we're talking about the season premiere of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Before we get into that, we're going on tour in a few weeks, like basically in just over two weeks, somehow.

We are starting our In The Mix tour at Kansas City. Kansas City, Moe, then Chicago.

That's going to be October 3rd and October 4th, respectively. Then we're going to Minneapolis and Detroit later in October. We'll also be going to Philadelphia, DC, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Nashville, Clearwater, Fort Lauderdale, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Denver, Charleston, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, Toronto, Boston. Finally, New York City for the Golden Crab is February 25th. That's the end of our tour. We will be celebrating 15 years of podcasting by the time this tour ends. So go to watchwhatcrapens.com, get your tickets, but we're definitely flagging high alert. Go get your tickets for Kansas City and Chicago, because that's coming up super fast. Normally we like to give several months heads up, but why not be crazy and give you guys just several days heads up? So here we are. Go check out those shows. We'll see you there on the road. We're excited. But for more-

Ronnie Karam (3:05)

How long it took me to draw Bueller? There he is.

Ben Mandelker (3:08)

Let's see. Wait. You just drew Bueller like that right now?

Ronnie Karam (3:12)

Yeah. With some little Buells.

Ben Mandelker (3:14)

That is? First of all, that was really good. It's also really cute. You should make that up. Why don't you scan that in and make it into a Crappens t-shirt?

Ronnie Karam (3:25)

I just want someone to come in here and be like, well, it's not a palm tree. It is a Bueller.

I wonder who's in here.

Ben Mandelker (3:34)

I'm looking for a tchotchke on my desk to show the world. I can look at what I drew.

Ronnie Karam (3:41)

You've got your air conditioner behind you from childhood. I think that that's all we really need. I love to see that a couple of times a year whenever you're home visiting.

Ben Mandelker (3:49)

True. I got air conditioner. I got the printer. I've got childhood stuff here. There's a photo of me as Dan Rather in the school play over there. You want me to go grab that photo and put it up on the screen?

Yes. Can you vamp for seven seconds?

Ronnie Karam (4:05)

Yeah, sure. Why not? Let's go.

Yeah. So I'm just in here drawing and I'm watching people because it's a glass booth. So I'm watching all the people who work here. Okay.

Ben Mandelker (4:16)

You guys want to see?

Ronnie Karam (4:17)

You just saved a bunch of a cast people from being ragged on. Oh my gosh. That is so cute.

Ben Mandelker (4:24)

We have, this is the fourth grade school play.
