What was the size of that large boat they had recently, the giant one? Oh, how many people were on it?
Callum Smiles (0:04)
They had over 200, didn't they?
Peter McCormack (0:06)
200, so at Grand East, that's a 200 Grand Cross, and it's good money.
Callum Smiles (0:08)
You look at the shoes, because they'll all try and look like migrants, but the one who's got the nice new clean shoes.
Peter McCormack (0:15)
Got some new Jordans.
Callum Smiles (0:17)
He's part of the organized crime.
Peter McCormack (0:20)
See, the best way to make money in the UK now is...
Callum Smiles (0:23)
Government contracts.
Peter McCormack (0:23)
It's government contracts.
Callum Smiles (0:24)
Yeah.
Peter McCormack (0:25)
Which is extortion from the Texas.
Callum Smiles (0:27)
Zero accountability. You're given the illusion of democracy. It doesn't matter who you pick, they're all part of the same club. I think ultimately it's going to come down to civil war.
I mean, do you really think this can be solved politically?
Peter McCormack (0:42)
When government institutions fail, we need parallel institutions, which are run by the people of this country, for the people of this country, within the national interest.
Callum, sorry to talk to you, man. I don't even know where to start, but I do appreciate the work you guys are doing. I think we can all agree our country is in a significant mess at the moment.
Callum Smiles (1:12)
That's the mild version.
Peter McCormack (1:13)
That's the mild version. Yeah. Well, you're trying not to swear at the start of a podcast because YouTube-
Callum Smiles (1:18)
Yeah, first seven seconds, isn't it?
Peter McCormack (1:20)
No, it's actually about 15 minutes. I don't like it. Yeah, I think so. But anyway, so look, not only is our country stupid and not only do we have a political elite who seem to be completely incompetent at every level, but there's this like underlying feeling that we're all getting ripped off in ways we don't know. You guys have been doing some work. So just explain the work you guys have been doing.
Callum Smiles (1:44)
Well, firstly, when it comes to the Wyvern Foundation, the way I would best describe it is, it's a subscription-based community.
So there's certain things it's going to be doing in terms of like legal aid when it comes to free speech issues and things like that. It's basically kind of what England used to be in a modern format. So obviously, it used to be the villages, everyone looked after each other, everyone had kind of have their role in the village. This kind of puts that into an online platform because that's kind of what the world is now.
But in doing so, basically the team has basically been doing a lot of digging into exactly where our money is going. I mean, you see taxes are through the roof. The things in Dominic Frisby's book, Daylight Robbery, he puts in there, everyone thinks your biggest expense in your life is your mortgage. It's actually your tax bill. When you look at where the government money is going, you'll be astounded. That's kind of one of the main things the team's been digging into, exactly where government funding is going.
Peter McCormack (2:49)
Well, there was a pertinent tweet this morning that I shared, which is kind of interesting from Ian Martin.
So in 2007, national debt was 527 billion, 36% debt to GDP ratio. Today, national debt is 3 trillion, a 94% debt to GDP ratio. We've had a 2.5 trillion in under 20 years. Whatever you call this madness, it certainly isn't austerity.
Where is our money going?
Callum Smiles (3:19)
Well, that's a question a lot of people often ask. Who do we owe this to? Are we in debt to Uranus, Jupiter, Mars?
If the global debt is X amount, who on earth is this money owed to? But then you look at things like, I remember one of the most ridiculous figures I came across. It was, I was basically arguing with people, debating, about how the NHS is rubbish. It's really not, it's shocking. People go, oh no, but we need it. No, it's a financial black hole, right? And it's, it really doesn't need to be that expensive, which is why I've actually often preferred the private model, which on just saying out loud, you can kind of go, well, no, you want to, you want it to rip people off. No, when things are private, you can have, you can have competition and you can have different tiers and, you know, one will be really good and really expensive, one will be value for money. But the point is that how with the private model, there is accountability.
