All right, on today's final Something Major, we're gonna recap the men's and women's finals from Wimbledon. Let's get going. Stevie, myself, Isner was gonna be on this, he was on a flight, flight couldn't land at the airport, had to get a new flight.

I've also got a pool party going on my house, so I got to get back to my guests. Let's start with the men's final. Jannik Sinner takes out Alexander Zverev. Great match, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4. This match started pre-match. Sinner, 62 percent chance likelihood to win prior to the match starting. I actually felt like that was a little high.
I had it more than 50-50. We talked about it the other day.
But anyway, Stevie, you just watched the match. Matches end. Zverev played a phenomenal first set. Then it was Zverev, 6-3 and 4 What was your takeaways from the match?

**Stevie** (1:13)
It was good tennis. I mean, I don't think either guy played great. I felt like Sinner at the beginning was maybe more, was gripping the racket a little tighter, if that makes any sense. Just felt as if Zverev actually played great, which is great to see he was firing. I mean, his serve was a cannon.
Just started that match, he was hitting the forehand well. And once he won that first set, I was like, I thought he was gonna win this, maybe not in straights, but like in four, because kind of the emotional roar that he gave after that first set, the way he won it in a breaker, he's lost, I don't know, 15 straight sets to this guy and none of them have been close. So I thought like maybe this was it. And then Sinner just did what he does, has the last few years dug deep and he's just such an incredible mover. And that was a big second set breaker, obviously it's easy to say, but Sinner did what he needed to, served great in that breaker. And then the momentum just, you felt like was kind of one way traffic after set two, but first two hours of the match, I was, I assumed Zverev was gonna win that.

Especially after the first set, that first set was back and forth.

**Stevie** (2:18)
Until he lost the second set breaker, I thought Zverev was winning that match.

**Sam** (2:21)
I did too. I mean, first set, they're back and forth, goes to a tie breaker, it's seven all. They won 14 straight points on serve and both guys serving incredible, like hitting lines. And then, you know, Zverev came through with that massive forehand on set point. At that moment, I'm like, Zverev was gonna win this. Sinner was a little hesitant at times, I thought.
And the forehand was a little off. Sinner battles back again, they go back and forth, one, one, two, one, all the way to the breaker. Sinner wins that second set. And after Sinner wins the second set, and then was Sinner 56% chance to win.
And I'm kinda with you. Once Sinner, up until the very end of that tiebreaker, I thought it was Zverev. Did you feel like Sinner upped his game, kind of end of the second, third and fourth, you felt like Zverev dipped, you feel like it was a little bit of both?

**Stevie** (3:08)
I think it was a little bit of both, cause early in that first set, Sinner had break point, or maybe not early, like mid to late in the first set, like three, four, I think it was, or three all.
He shanked a routine for him, which is like, I was like, whoa, he's a little nervous, cause he was in control at that point, and just, you're like, man, this guy, it's actually good to know that the best player in the world still gets nervous. It makes you feel a little bit better sitting at home.

Yeah.

**Stevie** (3:34)
In the third set, it was like, felt like Zverev was hanging on. I don't know, his energy level dropped a little bit.
He was, Sinner was starting to get into service games with more frequently, Love 15s, Love 30s, 1530s. You're just like, if you could just get one of these early in each of these sets, the snowball is going to go and he played well at the end. I thought he was a little nervous trying to serve the match out.
