People don't have the money that they want, not because they're not competent, but they're not confident. I'm like, how do you go broke when all this information is out here?

Rashad Bilal (0:07)

What are some methods to get out of debt?

Tiffany Aliche (0:09)

You pick a method of debt pay down, and then you automate it, and then put your focus toward growing wealth, because what you focus on is what grows.

Rashad Bilal (0:16)

What's the biggest mistake people make when they're trying to budget or manage money?

Tiffany Aliche (0:19)

You cannot budget and save your way to wealth, absolutely. Money needs to actively grow on purpose.

Troy Millings (0:23)

Is there a difference between being financially free and financially whole?

Tiffany Aliche (0:27)

Financial freedom means you have a ton of money that you don't have to work anymore. But financial wholeness means that your life is working for the best benefit of you.

Rashad Bilal (0:34)

How do you make more money?

Tiffany Aliche (0:35)

I would start looking, can I make more money where I currently am? And if not, can I put those two things, something I have a degree or certificate in and something, it's not a new skill set I have to learn, so I can start getting to the money faster.

Rashad Bilal (0:46)

What are some investing tips for people that just are beginning to start their investment journey?

Tiffany Aliche (0:50)

The best place to start investing is in the education.

Troy Millings (0:53)

How do you deal with, hey, there's an emotional side to investing as well that you have to conquer?

Tiffany Aliche (0:57)

Get yourself to a place where your money is solid enough that you don't have to be so pressed about whether your investments went up or down because that's going to happen.

Rashad Bilal (1:05)

Okay, welcome back EYL.

Troy Millings (1:08)

We're here.

Rashad Bilal (1:08)

We are here. We got a special guest. With us, somebody that we haven't had on the program in a while, but definitely family when it comes to the Earn Your Leisure. We did Earn Your Leisure. We've done Invest Fest. We've done Market Mondays.

Troy Millings (1:20)

This is the first time in person. Yeah.

Right? Yeah. It was pandemic times. The first time we sat down.

Tiffany Aliche (1:26)

I mean, I did Invest Fest in academia, but yes, first time in person.

Troy Millings (1:31)

Fire.

Rashad Bilal (1:31)

Well, Tiffany Aliche, better known as The Budgetnista. I mean, kind of don't even really need a introduction, but best-selling author, advocate for financial literacy in schools. Think you have a bill named after you in New Jersey.

Can build the community online, was actually one of the people that actually taught us about building the community early during the pandemic days. Somebody that has been an advocate for budgeting and credit and investing and 401Ks and real estate and business, entrepreneurship, and really, really, really been a pioneer in the space that we occupy as far as financial literacy and entrepreneurship and investing, and has approached it from a very different standpoint. I think a very common sense, easy, digestible, straight to the point way, and it's resonated with millions of people. So always a great time when we get to have this conversation. So thank you for joining us.

Tiffany Aliche (2:37)

I'm going to bring you on the road, Rashad, like, play, let you spin.

Troy Millings (2:41)

I'm thinking if there was a Financial Avengers, you would definitely be part of it.

Tiffany Aliche (2:45)

Thank you.

Troy Millings (2:46)

You've definitely been part of our journey. I still remember when you told me about building community, we were like, all right, we got to do that. And you were telling us the numbers. We were like, oh, we definitely have to do that. And then you're like, yeah, you got to get a book. The book, oh, we definitely got to do that. And so here we are, doing all the things that you had recommended and hopefully making the community proud while we're doing it.

Tiffany Aliche (3:04)

No, you are. I mean, it's so crazy. I feel like there's no where I can't go where, especially a man, which I really love, will be like, you ever heard of Earn Your Leisure? They're like, and their face lights up. And I just, because there wasn't that before. You know what I mean? Because my community is largely women and there wasn't anything. I mean, I know y'all don't just do men, but they didn't feel seen it really until y'all came along. And so that's pretty amazing, especially black men.
