Offline is brought to you by Thrive Market. Back to school is around the corner, and so is the mental load of figuring out what to feed your family, from dinner, snacks to the eternal lunchbox panic. Scratch a few items off your worry list with Thrive Market. Thrive Market restricts over a thousand harmful ingredients. Whole Foods only restricts 300 Take that, Whole Foods. For a label reading parent, that alone is worth the price of membership. Speaking of the Thrive membership, it gives you exclusive, low pricing, weekly sales, free gifts and free delivery on qualifying orders all for just $5 a month. In 2026, USA Today named Thrive Market one of the most trusted brands by parents. Thrive Market is the first online-only grocer to accept Snap EBT Online, and every membership sponsors one for a low-income family.
We have a bunch of Thrive Market snacks in the office. They're great. They got animal crackers from Happy Snacks, potato chips and cheese balls from The Good Crisp. Mission Meats has kid-sized grass-fed beef sticks. My kids love those. So use my link thrivemarket.com/offline to get $30 off your first two orders. You cannot get this deal on the website. It's only through my link. That right there covers your membership fee. So sign up now before this exclusive offer ends, thrivemarket.com/offline.
Every big economic story begins with a question. Questions like, why did prices go up? Or what do robot chefs mean for the restaurant industry?
Planet Money helps you find answers by digging into the places and the people at the center of the story, asking the questions that make the economy easier to understand. Listen to Planet Money wherever you get your podcasts.

We've never had Nick Fuentes on. That's not for lack of interest necessarily from Nick.
But it is something we, the question becomes, if what I said is true, which is, we want to have honest conversation. And just because we have someone on is not us. So there's no thumb on the scale, right? Jubilee is not saying, hey, because we have this perspective on that, we're validating that viewpoint necessarily. We're creating the circumstance where these conversations are happening. At what point does a viewpoint become big enough or a perspective become big enough that we need to hold it to account?

**Jon Favreau** (2:12)
Right.

**Jason Y. Lee** (2:13)
And I don't know. And we haven't had Nick on.

**Jon Favreau** (2:15)
Would you?

**Jason Y. Lee** (2:17)
Right now, we haven't. And I think there's a reason why.

**Jon Favreau** (2:21)
Yeah.
I'm Jon Favreau, and you just heard from today's guest, Jason Lee, the founder and CEO of Jubilee, the massive YouTube channel that's become known for its viral political debates. You've almost certainly seen a Jubilee clip, specifically a clip from their famous or infamous debate series called Surrounded, where one person sits in the center of a room and a circle of about 20 people takes turns running up to debate them. Surrounded features political commentators, many of whom you are certainly familiar with.

**SPEAKER_4** (2:58)
My next claim is that trans women are not women. What's your name?

**SPEAKER_3** (3:07)
Sam.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:07)
Nice to meet you. Let's define our terms.

**Jon Favreau** (3:09)
A woman is an adult female, XX chromosomes. You tell me what is a woman.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:13)
I think a woman is somebody who identifies as a woman.

**Jon Favreau** (3:16)
Got it.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:17)
That's not a definition.

**Jon Favreau** (3:18)
It's like saying a table is something that identifies as a table.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:20)
Give me an objective definition of how it's not a table is an object.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:23)
Well, a table can't identify as anything.

**Jason Y. Lee** (3:26)
It doesn't have a choice.

**SPEAKER_5** (3:27)
Whether it's freedom of speech, what does the declaration say?

**Jason Y. Lee** (3:29)
Trump is attacking that freedom of religion.

**SPEAKER_4** (3:31)
Trump is attacking that.

**Jason Y. Lee** (3:32)
He's not attacking freedom of religion.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:33)
How is that a Muslim ban?

**Jason Y. Lee** (3:34)
We had a Muslim ban in this country.

**SPEAKER_6** (3:36)
No, we have never had an actual Muslim ban. That is an insane claim by you.

**Jason Y. Lee** (3:40)
Yes, we did.

**SPEAKER_6** (3:41)
That is an insane claim.

**Jason Y. Lee** (3:41)
It had to be overturned by the Supreme Court. You don't condemn Nazi persecution of the Jews.

**SPEAKER_6** (3:47)
I think that there was a little bit of persecution.

**Jason Y. Lee** (3:50)
We may have to rename the show because you're a little bit more than a far-right Republican.

**SPEAKER_3** (3:54)
Hey, what can I say? I think you say I'm a fascist.
