Hello, we have Barbara from the USA today as our guest. We talked to her about how she became successful on YouTube, how she has used our strategies, how we helped her to scale her second channel up to 8,000 to 9,000 dollars per month. And above all, we talked to Barbara about the tasks of YouTube automation, the owner and the mindset you need to be successful. Okay, today is a very special episode for Lisa and me. I'm here with Barbara. Barbara is a YouTube goddess. She made over 9,000 dollars in the last 28 days. And more importantly, Barbara is a mindset monster, which Lisa and I really love and we're talking about you so often. And you don't really know that, but I already told you a little bit. So, Barbara, my first question, I think, would be, why YouTube?
Is this something even people or this is not a business model that's typically for us women in the best age? And how did you discover it and what was fascinating about the business model?
**Barbara** (1:27)
I've had a YouTube channel actually for about 15 years because I used to post travel videos. And believe it or not, that channel is not monetized. I've had 993 subscribers for 10 years. But I really had a fascination for video and for sharing ideas, sharing information, sharing all kinds of things. And I think it was at the time I started, the wild west of the Internet as far as video went. And we also, my husband has a marketing business that is Google Partner.
And when I learned that you could monetize this, well, it was no question.

And no brainer.

And the first channel you had didn't blow up immediately. You had to learn, you had to be patient, and you had to continue and hustle. So what are the main points you would like to share with people who are struggling with Mindset or struggling with that channel or something?
**Barbara** (2:39)
Well, I think first of all, you have to go into it as this is a business in which you are trying to make money. If you're doing this for fun, then this is not the kind of thing that we're talking about. And my first mistake was choosing a niche that I felt strongly about, that I enjoyed. So it was space. I love space. I loved it. I loved making every video. I was enthusiastic. But you're competing against giants with deep pockets. And all I was doing was making poor imitations of videos that had already been done. So there was really no hope. I think that channel is still up and still is not at 1,000, it's like at 500 subscribers after two years. So I think choosing a niche based on data and research, the way every business decision should always be made, is important. You have to put your emotions to the side. You have to decide that you're going to do this, that you're going to be successful, that this is the decision you've made to go forward, and then follow the numbers.
That's, you're guaranteed of being successful. If you have the right mindset, and you follow the numbers, and you use business decisions that are based in data.

Yeah. Absolutely true. And I didn't know that YouTube is such a data-driven business model, and I'm still amazed about how everything is clearly written for you to see and to analyze and to work with, actually. You've always been, or you told us, you've always been a positive person. But you told me, or us, last night or the night before, that a book especially changed your life lately. Which book was it?
**Barbara** (4:39)
Yeah.
I used to be so into reading self-help books and being aware of my attitude and how I behaved. And then somehow, life just got the better of me and I got slowly off track. And if you don't keep up with this, you will just go off into the weeds. And then one day, Nell says to me, you need to read Change Your Paradigm, Change Your Life by Bob Proctor. Is that, I think that's his name. And I did. And it was like waking up again. It was like I said, that's right. This is how we need to be.
You cannot go into this with any negativity because you are what you think about, right? We all should know that by now. So if you wake up in the morning and you say, oh, I gotta do these videos or I was never gonna work. I'm never gonna, well, then it won't. You've just told yourself it won't work. So you really have to think about what you say to yourself and what you say about your business and how you get up in the morning and how you interact with other people. It all works together and you will be successful. It's a choice. Positivity is a choice. Your attitude is a choice. You could blame other people till the cows come home, but it's still your choice. So, you know, take ownership of it and the sky's the limit.
