And as I crossed the corner, and I remember stepping on a rock, and one minute, I was running, and the next, the horizon literally had flipped on its head. And then the world went into slow motion. I realized that I was falling. I remember just hearing my own voice, and I remember me telling myself to take a deep breath, that this was it, that you're going to die, but do your best to stay calm, and it will all be over soon.

Okay, welcome back. Or welcome to the Finding Mastery Podcast. I'm Michael Gervais. And by trade and training, I am a sport and performance psychologist. And I am so fortunate to work with some of the most extraordinary thinkers and doers across the planet. And the idea behind this podcast, behind these conversations, is to learn from extraordinary people. And what we're doing is we're working to pull back the curtain to explore how these extraordinarily have committed to mastering both their craft and their minds. Our minds are our greatest asset. And I say that, and I know that most people have not formally trained their mind. So if you want to learn more about how you can do just that, this is just a quick little reminder to check out our online psychological training course, where we have pulled together the best practices to meet that unique intersection of the psychology of high performance and the psychology of wellbeing. We walk through 16 essential principles and skills for you to train your mind in the same way that we work with world-class athletes and performers. You can find all of this at findingmastery.net forward slash course.
I want to take a minute here to announce a really exciting event that we have coming up. As you continue to navigate the challenges and opportunities of 2024, I want to pose a question. And I just want to get right to the heart of the key elements, one in particular, for what it takes to excel in today's high heat, high stakes world, because stress is not the problem that we think it is. Stress is a synonym for change and our ability to be agile with change, that is the real opportunity at hand. So if you're wanting to unlock extraordinary results and sustainable performance in your life, it's not about avoiding or reducing stress. And as simple as that sounds, it's very tricky to do, but it is about fundamentally changing your relationship with it.
And that's why I'm so thrilled to invite you to a special event. It's a free virtual event that we're offering, and it's called The Power of Embracing Stress.
