Into the wild, the Caltier Panther encounters a shimmering crocodile, a lonely lovebird, a breathless zebra, and a restless tiger.

You are listening to The Next Best Picture Podcast, and this is our review for You Can See Everything. You really feel you did nothing wrong? I did not.
So where did things get lost? Like how are you where you are right now?
SPEAKER_4 (1:31)
I wish I knew, you know? I don't know.
SPEAKER_5 (1:36)
I don't feel like I understand that.
SPEAKER_3 (1:42)
So I know you guys invited me to stay here. Does any part of you worry about me being here 24-7?
SPEAKER_5 (1:51)
I don't think so. I think this is the moment in time to capture this story before I'm gone.
SPEAKER_3 (2:12)
I fell in love in that first conversation.
SPEAKER_5 (2:15)
Before or after she revealed she was the founder of Theranos? Probably before.
SPEAKER_3 (2:20)
I mean, weren't you worried she was sort of scamming you? 100 percent.
SPEAKER_2 (2:25)
But what did she have to gain from me?
SPEAKER_3 (2:26)
Well, isn't your family rich? Yeah, I think that there's a lot of different levels of wealth. All right, everyone, you're listening to The Next Best Picture Podcast and the story for You Can See Everything is as follows. 34 days before she sent to prison, notorious Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move. But what begins as an intimate portrait becomes a mind-bending three-year journey. The film is starring Billy Evans, Nathan Fielder, Elizabeth Holmes, and it is directed by Nathan Fielder, Lance Oppenheim.
And here to join me for this, the biggest emphasis on spoiler-filled podcast review you have ever heard from me, I have Amy Kim.

I can't think of it.
SPEAKER_5 (3:22)
I'll just let you sit with the stare. That's supposed to be Elizabeth Holmes.
SPEAKER_3 (3:25)
That was terrifying.
SPEAKER_5 (3:27)
Josh Parham.
SPEAKER_7 (3:29)
Hello, hello.
SPEAKER_3 (3:31)
Giovanni Lago.
SPEAKER_7 (3:32)
Hello.
SPEAKER_3 (3:33)
And Daniel Howat. Hello, hello. Okay. Second warning, spoilers. We are talking spoilers for You Can See Everything. So that is it. That is the warning. It is out there. If you guys continue to listen and you have not seen this movie yet, you have been warned because, oh my God, the secrecy surrounding this movie and everything about its reveals, it has caused quite a stir all over the world. Well, not the world. Sorry. I put a tweet out about this earlier and I got kind of dragged for it. This movie is only released right now, I believe, in North America, but it'll slowly roll out. I'm sure to other places. You can see everything. A documentary from A24 is causing so much discussion and creating so much buzz, that this is not your typical limited release for a documentary with an Oscar qualifying run. No, no, no, no, no, no. This is a blockbuster event like movie that you need to see to believe. It is a movie that is completely, I believe in some ways redefining what a documentary film can be. And it is also in some ways the spiritual sequel to Hulu's Emmy award winning The Dropout. It also feels in some ways like it is a television movie of a spinoff of the rehearsal from Nathan Fielder or season three of the rehearsal from Nathan Fielder, however you want to frame it. All in all, this movie feels special in so many different ways. It is exploring the personal life of Elizabeth Holmes and asking the question that with a nearly three hour run time, with all the access in the world and the ability to ask and see and do pretty much anything you want, can we still know the truth about any individual that walks amongst this planet?
There are things about this movie that are still haunting me. There are still things that I am extremely puzzled by. I am concerned for the well-being of Nathan Fielder himself and everything that he has psychologically put himself through in the making of this movie. But it is not just him that directed it. I want to give some credit here to Lance Oppenheim, who is also a co-director on this movie, who is having quite a moment right now with the release of this. Plus, prime time, this should definitely, I think, be changing his career trajectory in a major way moving forward. This movie had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival under heavy scrutiny of securities, secrecy. Yeah, maybe some scrutiny too. There was a lot of chatter about what the secret screening at Telluride would be. Myself, Howat and Mavity witnessed all of this firsthand. We had all of our devices confiscated before said screening, and it was quite an experience for sure. Now people are getting a chance to experience the movie for themselves in theaters. We are talking spoilers once again. Sorry, I have to keep saying it over and over because I just can't emphasize it enough. I want to toss it over first to Daniel Howat as far as general opening thoughts go. Howat, man, what did you think of this one of a kind movie?
