We debate this all the time here. The Yankee expectation is different. Maybe the Dodgers are the same now, but the Yankee expectation for a very long time has been making it to the postseason isn't good enough.

There's only a- Well, there's only one way for a Yankee season to be deemed a successful season. Game seven World Series? No, winning the World Series. If they don't win the World Series, on some level, the season is a failure. Which is crazy. Now, depending on what the team look like, depending on how the injuries happen, there's levels of success or levels of failure. But no, there's only one way to have a successful, deemed successful season. Now, having said that, there are-
There is the idea of they- Like, my perfect example is Toronto. I know you weren't here last year during the baseball season. But the Blue Jays were depicted as an organization that built their team, how playoff teams and World Series teams are supposed to be built. Like, I heard that all the time. And they kicked the crap out of the Yankees last year. But it's contact. They have a deep lineup. They make the pitcher work. Look what they're doing into the postseason. Blah, blah, blah.
They were in last place the year before last year, and they're in last place this year. Like, there is no form of... Lightning in a bottle. Lightning in a bottle. And there have been teams that have caught lightning in a bottle and went on to win. The 23 Rangers, I would say, almost every team the Yankees have built under Brian Cashman, has been better than the 23 Rangers.

So, I mean, look, I don't think the Yankees will use the word successful, but they will tell you, we went to the postseason with a chance to win, and then we didn't perform. And the postseason is somewhat of a crapshoot. Is it a complete crapshoot? No. But if you're going to say it's not a crapshoot, then the Dodgers are winning the World Series this year. Plain and simple.

The problem with the New York Yankees and what the New York Yankee fan has, this is the problem. It's not so much now this year at this moment might be a little bit different. But for the fact is, it's not that the Yankees suck. It's that the Yankees are really good and have yet to be the team that gets through the postseason. They're too good for too long to never be the team that breaks through. And that's fair. But I don't know how you, how do you gauge what they need exactly to break through? Because they have the best hitter in baseball, who's underperformed almost every postseason in the last five years.
