Welcome to another episode of Thoughts of a Techno Wizard. And our future is Cosmic Shaman and other cool things too. It is, what is today? Saturday. Yeah, Saturday, January 31st, 8, 8:10 pm, 2026 And I'm feeling not so good. Not so great in the car on the way to get a heater. It's cold out here.

I was going to go to my friend's place. They were doing a party. But unfortunately, they had to cancel it because of winter storms and all this other stuff.

It's been a lot going on. I wanted to go to date, but I took way too long to finish these goddamn muffins I was making, these sweet potato muffins. And I feel like it ain't turned out all that good. So now I'm doubly, I'm doubly frustrated. Late for no reason now, it feels like. So I just asked if I could just come through tomorrow. So I'm going to do that. Plus I'm tired. It's already late. It'll take, you know, half an hour to get there, at least.

So might as well just regroup. Get some rest and then go tomorrow in better spirits.

But yeah, man, it's frustrating that, that, that, like, I hate being late to things.

I really do. But, you know, sometimes things just, just don't work out. They just do not work out.

I got to deal with that. I know I should have started earlier with this stuff, but not only did I, not only was I not sure it was going to happen, but like I said, they ended up canceling it anyways. So I was like, should I still go? And is that any other? And I was hesitating too much. And then as always, I'm pretty sure I even mentioned this a few days ago, or whenever I was last talking, but I always take longer, maybe not always, but more, more, see?

More often than I care for, I take longer than I expected to cook, you know, to finish a dish. And that sucks. That really sucks. Like, because I'm not a great cook already. I'm still learning. And I don't, why, I didn't like cooking previously. I have, I know, I have, I have gained an appreciation for cooking these days. But it's still not like my favorite thing to do. Primarily because it's just takes so much work. You know, there's so much that goes into it. And it's like this much work, like I could be spending this time, you know, doing other things, like learning crafting, other crafting skills, or writing, or reading, or doing all this other stuff, you know. Sometimes it's just work that you just don't want to do. And I feel like that's the case for cooking. Now, luckily, you know, at least with cooking, not only is it a practical skill, but there's some art to it, there's some science to it, which I enjoy. I like following a good set of directions. And then, you know, if all goes well, you can turn out with something that's really good, that tastes really good, you know. That's unique in its own way. Even if you're following an ingredient, it might be unique to you still, you know. But sometimes it just don't pan out well. And now it feels extra bad, because not only did you waste time, you spent all that time doing it, but you also spent a bunch of ingredients. So now, you know, that's money. That's resources. And it sucks.

I do got to be fair with myself, you know. Sometimes when I mess up a dish, it's not actually like inedible. Like the muffins I made, they were still decent, you know. The flavor is good, but it just, the texture was off, you know. I guess I overbaked it and I don't know what else, but it just didn't turn out as good, especially because like now I'm like comparing to my partner because my partner is usually the one who makes these muffins. But she couldn't make it today, so I was like, okay, I'm going to make it. But they did not turn out well.

On top of that, because I thought I was going to be making it for like a whole group, like large group of people, I made a whole lot. Because I started making it before, you know, I got the news that the thing was canceled. So now, I have all these goddamn muffins and stuff that's subpar. I'm just very frustrated. Very, very frustrated. But it turns out, you know, that's how things go sometimes, so.

Got to deal with it.

Like I said, it's not horrible. Oh, goodness. I'm tired. But it's just not an idea.
