Hi, this is Rachel McElroy.
**Griffin McElroy** (0:18)
Hi, this is Griffin McElroy.
**Rachel McElroy** (0:20)
And this is Wonderful.
**Griffin McElroy** (0:21)
Welcome to Wonderful. This is a podcast where we talk about things we like, that's good, that we're into. Who are we, and why are we in any position to sit here and tell you things we like? What an antagonistic start. Well, it's not us, babe, it's them. Oh, they're the ones who ask the question. This is me, I'm being the audience surrogate, carrying to term the question from the audience, which is, who the hell are we?
**Rachel McElroy** (0:47)
They decide to listen to this podcast and immediately they're like, who do they think they are?
**Griffin McElroy** (0:51)
They did, they saw a link on their MP3 player and they saw the premise of the show. They said, wonderful. They crossed their arms. They said, we'll see about that. And then they come at us with these questions and I'm like, dude, I'm just trying to make my living to support my family.
**Rachel McElroy** (1:10)
I'm just trying to be a culture vulture.
**Griffin McElroy** (1:12)
I'm just, that's a bad thing, isn't it?
**Rachel McElroy** (1:15)
I always thought it was like a fun way to talk about people who-
**Griffin McElroy** (1:19)
Well, you never hear about vultures in like a positive sense.
**Rachel McElroy** (1:22)
That's true.
**Griffin McElroy** (1:22)
But you never say like, oh, that carrion bird of prey. I mean, I think they're great.
**Rachel McElroy** (1:26)
It rhymes, you know?
**Griffin McElroy** (1:28)
It rhymes.
**Rachel McElroy** (1:28)
I always assumed that was just kind of like a fun rhyming thing for people who were really up on, you know, the coolest things out there.
**Griffin McElroy** (1:37)
Maybe, and don't get me wrong, I wanna cut this off at the pass because I don't wanna get emails. I love our nation's carrion birds.
They keep our highways clean, they keep our highways safe for drivers and I think they get a bad rap. So I'll happily be called a culture vulture by you or our mean listener right now who keeps just hitting us with all these questions.
**Rachel McElroy** (2:05)
Who loves vultures and does not think we should be talking about things we like.
**Griffin McElroy** (2:10)
Yeah, a culture vulture also to return to that term, that would suggest that that is someone who picks the bones of dead culture clean, which is not also like it sounds bad.
**Rachel McElroy** (2:23)
Should I look it up or we this concerned I guess about?
**Griffin McElroy** (2:27)
No.
**Rachel McElroy** (2:28)
Okay.
**Griffin McElroy** (2:28)
This isn't like a dork podcast about etymology and stuff. I just, it's an interesting term.
**Rachel McElroy** (2:33)
It's very close to that.
**Griffin McElroy** (2:35)
It's exceptionally that, it's explicitly that. Do you have any small wonders? You look so cute by the way.
**Rachel McElroy** (2:41)
Thanks dude. Do you want to go first?
**Griffin McElroy** (2:44)
Yeah. No.
**SPEAKER_3** (2:45)
Yeah. It's tough.
**Griffin McElroy** (2:46)
It's yeah.
**Rachel McElroy** (2:53)
Can we say popsicles?
**Griffin McElroy** (2:54)
Yeah. We can just say popsicles.
We're not having like the coolest summer. We're having a cruel summer, I believe. The whatever band who did that song would say. It's been a challenging couple of weeks.
**Rachel McElroy** (3:07)
Yeah. A lot of unexpected challenges. But I will say our boys have gotten very excited about popsicles.
That's a fun time of year.
**Griffin McElroy** (3:15)
Well, we got two different. I'm in a big boo boo, didn't I? Because we went to the store and we got popsicles. And I was like, well, popsicles, do you kids want? And they got these little, you know, dreamsicle.
**Rachel McElroy** (3:26)
They look like crayons.
**Griffin McElroy** (3:27)
They look like crayons and they're like four flavors in one.
That's busy. That's too busy for the mouth. I got some of those good premium healthy outshine ones. And I made a big deal about it when they had their popsicles and I had my adult popsicle. If you're not ready for this popsicle, you're not ready for the mature flavor of these adult healthy outshine popsicles. And now all they want, all they want is our adult popsicles.
**Rachel McElroy** (3:54)
I mean, that's probably good. They're probably, you know, But I want them. More real fruit than.
**Griffin McElroy** (4:00)
But Rachel, I want the adult popsicles.
**Rachel McElroy** (4:02)
Well, you shouldn't have made a big deal out of it.
**Griffin McElroy** (4:03)
I know I shouldn't.
**Rachel McElroy** (4:04)
