Let's take a look here, what's the rumor?

Mike (0:01)

Narnia...

Travis (0:03)

I'm not making any fucking pizza bets because I don't know any fucking clue how this is going to go.

Mike (0:07)

Really? So after you see this trailer, you don't go one way... I was going to say, before you saw this trailer, did you think this movie was going to be a big hit?

Travis (0:15)

I thought it was going to be good, but I don't think there's a lot of Narnia lovers out there these days.

Mike (0:18)

OK, and then after this trailer, you don't think it helps or hurts it? Fuck.

Travis (0:22)

I think it hurts it.

Mike (0:23)

Reported budget is $280...

Travis (0:25)

Oh, yeah.

Mike (0:26)

$280,280,000.

Travis (0:28)

Did you see the fucking CGI they got in this fucking trailer? Of course. I'm surprised it's not cracking $400,000.

Mike (0:34)

And that's going to be like Digger, where they're like, oh, actually it was a lot more when they looked at the, like, that's, so it's like this movie, let's just round up with marketing, get to $300,000. You have to be making about $600,000,000 to be in the profit zone for this.

Travis (0:49)

That's Netflix for you.

Mike (0:52)

We get a Narnia 2

Travis (0:56)

Are you making that bet, Mike? I'm not touching it with a 10 foot pole, but you go ahead.

Mike (1:00)

But you said you couldn't decide either way. So that's where it's a 50-50 bet.

Travis (1:02)

Decide either way what? That they're doing another one?

Mike (1:04)

A Narnia 2

Travis (1:06)

I'm leaning that they're not going to, but I'm not going to make a bet. I think this is way too much of a loose can. Because for a lot, I know this trailer just slaps out of the park and everyone falls in love with it.

Mike (1:16)

Can you tell me, what's the view count on the Netflix trailer?

Travis (1:21)

Let's see here.

Mike (1:24)

Negative 2

Travis (1:25)

Let's see. 33 million. I'm just kidding. That's subscribers. The view count is 5 million.

Here, just for fun, let's go calculator. Five, one, two, three, one, two, three times. What's an average movie ticket in American dollars?

Mike (1:43)

That's not true. That's true. But that's not that's going to work. People.

Travis (1:47)

50 million dollars. Movies are not getting a sequel.

Mike (1:53)

And the theater gets half of that to make it 20

They spent 280 and they get 25 million back. Like, what is this? Can you look at click on the exorcist to right there? What's the view count on that? We're not going to do that next.

Travis (2:09)

5.2 million. This case. OK, to be fair, this 10 hours ago, 5.194 million for Narnia. So it's just like a difference of 6,000 views.

Mike (2:23)

And to me, exercise. Exorcist, you can close this window now. We'll come back to exorcist later, so keep that up.

Taylor (2:30)

But we'll we'll do that in a second.

Mike (2:33)

Exorcist, I can't say is like a dead franchise, but it's definitely a franchise that needs some love. It's nowhere in the zeitgeist for big franchises, and that's pulling 5 million trailer views with a couple more days.

Taylor (2:44)

Sure.

Mike (2:45)

But then you got Narnia, which should be blowing up. I feel confident on this.

I guess there's a version of that where they do language. Well, there's no way you can do language and wardrobe for cheap, right? That's got to be.

Travis (2:59)

Sorry, say it again, for cheap?

Mike (3:02)

Like, let's say the second one bombs and then they go like, oh, we got to make language and wardrobe cheaper than 280 Like, I feel like that's, isn't that a bigger book?

Travis (3:10)

How, it has a lot more going on. Yeah, but like how, because you got, you're in Narnia for that book, right? So how do you go cheaper? Like, I get like, you're not doing The World Between Worlds or that stuff, but like you're literally, this is a CGI fest of a movie. So, oh, look at these comments here. Can we pop this back up? The Ragnarokification of Narnia. This is a movie about two British kids discovering their uncle's secret LSD lab.

Oh, all the budget went into getting the rights to Star Raid of Heaven and Daniel Craig. Narnia, Love and Thunder.

Mike (3:45)

What the fuck is that? Lease anything going on there?

It does have that vibe. It has the MCU vibe. I guess that's a tough thing, right? Because Mike brings up a point, but box also made for Netflix is just a bonus. They want as content. I agree. It just comes down to do enough people click on that. Can you look at what the budget was for Six Underground? The Michael Bay classic was starring Ryan Reynolds. At one point was the most streamed Netflix movie of all time.
