Welcome back to the show.
Can AI help us be kinder and more empathetic in our communications? That's the topic today. I'm Stephen Sakach here once again with Tullio Siragusa and Ash Maher.
So my son works in the Urban Forestry Department for the city's Parks and Rec Department, and he just did this event with all kinds of trucks and things like that. And so they bring all these trucks and bulldozers and stuff out to the city area there, and then all the three-year-olds and five-year-olds get to climb in and honk horns and play with them. He's telling me how, he goes, yeah, all these three and five-year-olds, they like know every single thing about these trucks. And I'm like, this was you. This was you when you were little, and you realize you're living your dream job right now. You get to climb into these bulldozers and you get to climb up trees and do all this stuff. But when he was young, I don't think he realized what he'd be doing. For me, when I'm young, my job didn't exist. Digital marketing didn't exist.
And so when he was young, AI wasn't part of anything really. He saw it in movies, maybe like Iron Man or something like that, but it was always just this thing that was out there.
But now it's kind of integrated in our jobs and what we're doing. We're starting to see that the past year and a half, two years, that it's really just becoming part of our daily work life. So that's the question today, is to talk about how AI is going to help us be kinder and more empathetic in our communications, because I think it will. There may be some issues along the way with this integration of this, but judging by how some of us talk to our Alexis or our series or things like that, who can really say if it's going to work out that way? Because I think some people can be a little verbally abusive. And when that robot revolution happens, Tullio, they'll be the first ones they turn on, don't you think? Is that they'll be taking notes on all this?

**Tullio Siragusa** (2:30)
Absolutely. Actually, I think they could be part of the therapy of letting all that stuff out sometimes.

**Stephen Sakach** (2:36)
Alexa therapist version where you can just-

**Tullio Siragusa** (2:39)
Absolutely, they need to develop a therapist where you just yell at it and just let it out, or the proxy for someone that you're really upset with.
And want to have conflict with them. So they'll all just proxy, maybe they'll even make their voice and then just talk back to you. And you can just have it out, hash it out with the Alexa and then come to a peaceful place, right? And then you can go talk to that person from a place of peace because you worked it all out with your AI bot, something like that. I mean, I'm joking, but it's actually something I think could have a lot of value.

**Ash Maher** (3:10)
I was gonna make a joke too, the variable that has to be coded in is, don't take anything they're saying personally. They don't mean it.

**Stephen Sakach** (3:18)
Oh, it'll be noted, noted on that remark.

**Tullio Siragusa** (3:20)
Have zero emotion about it. It's all about supporting them to let it go. You don't have to have these weekends where people go and just smash stuff and hit sticks on the ground and yell and scream.
I could just totally see like robots and AI showing up to these things and just like facing someone and you just pummel them just to get all your aggression out. And they don't fight back.

**Stephen Sakach** (3:43)
You're the first one, you're the first one on that list. You're the first one on that list.

**Tullio Siragusa** (3:47)
Let's face it, as much as we're empathetic, there's also this dark side inside of us that just kind of is in there. So you need to have an outlet. I think AI can be an enabler to that outlet.

**Stephen Sakach** (3:59)
Treat your robots kindly.
Practice in life. I don't know, I think like, for that to work though, you've got to be able to give the robot lots of context. Cause I think people will be like, you know, robot, you don't know my life. You don't know what's going on. How's, how are you gonna help me in that situation? I don't know, it's gotta have, you're gonna have to have some deep, long conversations with that for it to get some context on what's going on in your life. But that then evolves into this sort of creepy area, I think, that people are like.
