Will Aegon's Conquest Succeed? Predator Films On Hold? : GV 722 Highlight

SPEAKER_1 (0:00)

I don't think there's much to add here, but I just want to ask you to if you're worried, Dan Trachtenberg, on board to direct a new original feature inspired by Sleeping Beauty at Disney? Yeah, if you're not worried, you should worry.

Taylor (0:12)

We've been listening to a lot of Sleeping Beauty right now.

SPEAKER_1 (0:16)

Oh, in honor of this announcement?

Taylor (0:19)

In honor of this announcement, but road trip music.

SPEAKER_1 (0:21)

You like that?

Taylor (0:23)

Road trip music dictated a lot of Sleeping Beauty and...

SPEAKER_1 (0:29)

What are you doing right now? You look like you're jerking some guy off on the side.

Taylor (0:32)

There was a bug call.

SPEAKER_1 (0:33)

Scooter run.

Taylor (0:35)

Scooter run.

Kirkland (0:37)

Yeah, I like that.

SPEAKER_1 (0:40)

The white wolf shoving his old logs.

Taylor (0:45)

I don't think Dan should be doing this. They're doing him dirty. Dirty Dan.

Kirkland (0:49)

He needs a paycheck.

Taylor (0:50)

He needs a paycheck, then he needs to do a Predator movie. A live-action, a last prayer movie underperformed.

SPEAKER_1 (0:58)

And you think we're going to now. I feel good about my pizza, but you think Ridley Scott back in fucking deck, we're going to AVP movie. There was a finite time that could happen. I think now that window is gone for now.

Taylor (1:09)

How many years do we have left? Another nine years on that bed that I've made with Dylan 10, 10 year bet.

SPEAKER_1 (1:16)

No, I think I have seven now. I think it was like three years ago. It was the first GV day we did that we're on. We did our third GV day this year. I think I have seven years left. So I took a long way to go, but I'm feeling good with Ridley Scott back on deck.

Taylor (1:29)

We'll see. Once he does his third movie, then we're free. We're Scott free.

And then we can see what happens next. Cause those IPs, they're gonna have to, they're gonna do something and they're gonna pump them out. They'll be like, all right, what are we gonna do? We're gonna bring fucking Predator back.

SPEAKER_1 (1:44)

Or that just, or Scott just fucking kills this franchise again with David playing flutes and. No, everyone's all excited.

Taylor (1:49)

Everyone's happy about this.

SPEAKER_1 (1:51)

No, not everyone's excited about this.

Taylor (1:52)

Everyone's excited about it, apparently.

SPEAKER_1 (1:54)

I just, I feel like good about this cause I do want more prayer with Dan. I just felt like a little vindicated because I felt like nobody was talking about how Badlands underperformed. And I was like, well, I don't know if they're gonna do one with Predator right away, because like this did not hit the numbers. And now all of a sudden, you know, there's plans and now always doing Sleeping Beauty. It's like, all right. And I have no interest in like, I guess I got interested in they said an original idea. I think there's that's fun of like, okay, try to do more like Cinderella live action where you are adapting these live action, but putting some spins on them, but not just one to one, but Kirkland any interest in Sleeping Beauty or next thing?

Next. Okay, Jennifer Lawrence has been casting Zack Kragers, The Flood. The Flood is a sci-fi thriller, follows a crew on a remote mission, sorry, a remote space station who discovered an alien object that distorts time, reality, and their mind. It's described as a mix of alien meets 2001 space odyssey. So obviously, Zack Kragers, Tubboaster and the Resident Evil press tour said that was a female lead and Jennifer Lawrence, who's done some horror, but not like a horror aficionado, but going to be the female lead. Do you like the idea of this movie? Like the idea of J-Law in a Kragers film? What's that you?

Kirkland (3:06)

Is it the origin for Halo?

SPEAKER_1 (3:09)

I'm so fucking sick of this joke already. Clay made this joke.

Kirkland (3:12)

I actually-

SPEAKER_1 (3:13)

So many people made this joke already.

Kirkland (3:15)

I didn't see this joke, but I do remember seeing- Oh my God, what are you showing me?

And Clay dropped this. So many about a Halo, and I didn't put two and two together until right now. So there you go. Oh, there you go. On Reach, it's all coming together. Oh, the last sci-fi J-Law thing that I saw was Passengers, if I'm not mistaken, and that movie was Hot Doodoo Garbage.

Taylor (3:45)

Sorry, I didn't wait. The last Jennifer Lawrence thing you saw was Passengers?

Kirkland (3:49)

The last sci-fi-
