Welcome back to the Big Brother version of Y Blank Lost. Or as we call it this time every season, Y Blank Won. Joining me one more time is, of course, my co-host, Chappell.

SPEAKER_3 (1:04)

We did it! We did it! We made it, David. We got through a season of Big Brother together. It was so much fun. And now we have a new winner.

We got some new lore that we have to add into the Big Brother lexicon as well. But I'm so happy. It's over. It was a long season, not long as Big Brother standards, right? It was just summer. But now that it's over, I really do want to look back at the gameplay and really talk to you about our new winner here.

That's right. So congratulations to Rick Devens and of course to Taylor for snatching second place away from Drew, which we'll talk about. And yes, to Drew for getting third place. Both of the latter two did much better than I had predicted in our preview podcast. I gave Drew an expected rating of two out of 10, because he couldn't even keep his answers straight and said he could write a book about Big Brother while also saying he was going to keep his job hidden, which was surgical dental assistant, although I think his real job is reality TV show contestant.

And I gave Taylor a three as a long time episode only casual fan, mostly because she had come in with that very specific strategy that she wanted to enact, and I was a little worried about that. Yeah.

And even looking back, I don't think you were wrong in being worried about both of them. I think Drew, a lot of things bouncing his way for sure. There were definitely moments where his approach in Big Brother is not always successful.

It turned out to not be successful in the long run for sure. But yeah, I think there's a few times where we could have been talking about Drew earlier in the season. And I think you could say the same thing about Taylor. I think that Taylor's kind of tether strategy that she was trying to push, she tried to push it in the house as well. But I feel like she was leaning on that a little too much. She didn't really have other plans. And so when that didn't really plan out, she was kind of just surviving week to week almost.

And so, yeah, I think that kind of peeping that they would be on the lower end was a good shout, even though they did well, because again, your placement doesn't necessarily dictate how well you played the game. However, we rank Devens pretty high.

David Bloomberg (3:18)

Yeah, I gave him a seven. I said it would have been higher if he wasn't going to be seen as a big threat and targeted for it, which is, of course, a topic we will discuss plenty later. I don't remember what you gave him.

SPEAKER_3 (3:31)

I think it was a seven or it was lower because I remember saying that he was a chaos demon. And I was like, he's too much of a showman. He's going to draw attention to himself. There's no way that he doesn't and he likes to play from the bottom. And, you know, I drafted him actually for the Survivor 50 draft. And so I feel like I feel like this should count. You know, like I should get some type of honorable mention.

I totally agree.

I just think I should get something. You know what I'm saying? But yeah, so I was high on Devens for sure. I think I was higher on D. And so, yeah, but not mad about the winner by any stretch of the imagination. I think that it was a chance for him to really use the experience that he had playing Survivor both times and put it to work. And we got to see what it looks like when you have, you know, experience playing these games, but also when you're a person who genuinely can show up for themselves when the time is right. And he had a couple of clutch moments that really helped solidify him getting to the end. And, yeah, I think for the Devens fans, it was a good night.
