Here we go. Welcome to Spike's Car Radio, everybody. Got a jam-packed, filled show, full of car stuff, full of everything. I'm here with something. I'm here with Jonny Lieberman. The big news, the big news, the big news is this Porsche hypercar that we were hearing about alluded to, I think, two episodes ago. I can't remember where we are in the order. Now, Porsche is saying, when does this show air? Next Wednesday?

The Saturday following the 14th, they will be debuting the car in New York. Now, I know this is just kind of for dealers.

You and I were invited to go. We weren't able to make it. Thanks to our friends at Porsche Clearwater. But one of our correspondents, this comedian from New York, said, I'll go. And he's going to go and cover it for us.

Jonny Lieberman (0:58)

Nice.

Spike Feresten (0:58)

He, you know, the guy who never does anything, by the way, he wrote back, I go, do you want to do this? He goes, 1000%.

Jonny Lieberman (1:06)

Wow.

Spike Feresten (1:07)

Crazy.

Jonny Lieberman (1:08)

I really love that he's my replacement. Yeah, that's really good.

Zuckerman (1:11)

You're a pinch hitter.

Spike Feresten (1:13)

But he knows, you know, and then I was like, oh, he's right. You know, I should have said, yes, this is going to be a thing. It's going to be great, but whatever, you know, we can't do it because of our schedules. We're going to be at Willow Springs. I'm going to be in that next weekend. That's next weekend.

In a little bit, a representative from Willow Springs is going to be here, Kai Lermen, to tell us all about the event, because that's in a couple of days as well. But let's throw up Porsche's Instagram right now and just watch some of this stuff. And look at that second post right there. Johnny, to you, like, did you learn anything from any of this social media or is all of this just, you know, clickbait teasing?

Jonny Lieberman (1:51)

The one I learned from is the one that it's the video that shows the tack moving, the tachometer.

Spike Feresten (1:55)

Okay, go to that shot. Yeah, we have that.

Jonny Lieberman (1:58)

It shows it running. So what you see is it's really fast revving. So and the red line is eight grand, which means it's probably that flat eight we're hearing about. It's probably a naturally aspirated flat eight. It probably has electric motors.

Spike Feresten (2:16)

So no hybrid.

Jonny Lieberman (2:17)

I think it definitely has a hybrid.

There's no way it would have enough power by being an eight cylinder to be competitive with other million dollar hypercars. Yeah, yeah. So it's, and Porsche makes great powerful EVs right now. So I think you're going to get like the front motor is basically off of the Cayenne Turbo. And you'll probably get a pancake motor. I'm going to MGU between the transmission, pancake motor.

Kai Lermen (2:45)

I would love some pancakes.

Jonny Lieberman (2:46)

But the quickness of the revving is cool. And it looks like very short gears as well.

Spike Feresten (2:52)

What about that way that little instrument dial came out of the panel?

Jonny Lieberman (2:56)

I'm not exactly sure what that is, but I like how it looks like it's an analog needle. And then the digital stuff behind it, which is kind of very clever. And it's cool to go from a regular tach, you put in track mode, it's a clock tach, so red line straight up at noon. That I love about the current 911

Spike Feresten (3:13)

Have you heard anything about how it's gonna look?

Jonny Lieberman (3:15)

No, nothing.

Spike Feresten (3:16)

Nothing, right? So in that shot we started on, Cameron, you can see a little bit of a wing there.

Jonny Lieberman (3:22)

And that's very 959 looking.

Zuckerman (3:24)

It gives very little clue other than that.

Spike Feresten (3:27)

And do you think they're gonna go with this Mission S as the name or they're gonna say here's the new 917?

Jonny Lieberman (3:33)

Remember the Boxster that's about to come out, the electric Boxster was the Mission R. It's just there, like Mercedes, when their concept cars are Vision, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, 920 wouldn't be a bad guess, something like that. The last one was the 918, the 919 was a race car.

But Carrera GT was also a hyper car. 959 was a hyper car. So who knows what they're gonna name it.

Spike Feresten (3:55)

And now you have a holy trinity of these cars, right? You have the 918, you have the Carrera GT, and this would be the third for like the ultimate kind of collection.
