Did you know that mosquitos have killed almost half of all people who have ever lived?
Valeria Lipovetsky (0:35)
Today, people are fighting back. With support from the Gates Foundation, American scientists and partners around the world have developed a new generation of bednets that can kill up to 90% of mosquitos exposed to them, helping cut malaria rates in half. The result?

Choosing a life of alignment over a life of achievement, that is where you get the life that you're really satisfied with.

I was playing a mom, playing a wife. I was playing a lot of these roles, not really understanding who I am at my core.
Krista Williams (1:26)
Women have been taught to achieve before they were taught to listen to their desires. That whole time, they didn't ask what they wanted.
Valeria Lipovetsky (1:33)
Waking up at 4 a.m., a workout, protein coffee, and going to the office, 16 meetings, then a podcast. Then you come home at 6 p.m., you're with the kids. We're getting this feedback of like, this is the standard. You want to be successful, this is it. So I don't know how to stop it.
Krista Williams (1:46)
I'm miserable. I'm leaving parts of myself behind. And that usually is the point that people have to get to to change.
Valeria Lipovetsky (1:51)
I want women to speak louder about their desires, because it trickles down to every aspect of your life.
Krista Williams (1:58)
I just love the ability and the sexiness of women saying no and women having choice.
Valeria Lipovetsky (2:04)
I told them, I'm going to have opinion. I know what I want and I know how I want it. And I'm going to start saying it.
Krista Williams (2:10)
Having that woman that you know, that just helps you see when your vision's blurry, is so essential.
Valeria Lipovetsky (2:15)
I didn't know how to receive love. Now the level of like emotional depth and connection that I have in my friendships, I'm going to cry.
The reason Not Alone was created is to create a space where we can say the things that are on our minds out loud. I no longer want to see women have these internal conversations that make them feel lonely. So whenever I get a message from you, a DM, when you see me in person and share an episode that impacted you, made you feel a certain way, that made you feel less alone, this is why we do what we do. So please follow and subscribe so we can continue having these conversations and feel that we are not alone. I don't know if it's just me, but lately I've been hearing a lot of women pivoting. And for me, it comes up probably at every dinner that I went to, and every voice note that I'm getting from a friend, and every text thread that I'm in, women are walking away from careers they spent decades building. Wanting different lives, different versions of themselves. And I remember scrolling through Instagram and seeing this reel from Krista Williams. And I'm like, she is saying out loud what I've been witnessing around me. And I knew I needed to get her here. If you don't know her, you should. Krista, one of the earlier women to build a podcast in this whole space, almost 30, I'm sure you've heard of it. Ten years in, she's been through hundreds of conversations with the biggest name in spirituality and wellness. She's been sitting at the front of the room for a decade, and that means that she knows a lot of stuff. She is also naming things right now that nobody else has caught up to yet. This conversation went to a whole lot of places that I didn't expect. Did I cry? Yes, I did. But we talked about ambition and how so much of it is coming from trauma response and how to change it to come from a different place. Because ambition is not bad, just needs to change form as we evolve. We also talked a lot about the achiever that keeps us running and the moment we realize we've left pieces of ourselves behind. And a lot of us need to go back to get her. Krista also admitted how embarrassed she is about how full her calendar is. And honestly, I loved hearing that. We talked about this reel she posted about motherhood and the motherhood window. And she cried in it. There was grief that I thought was really beautiful to witness because a lot of women feel it. We started calling out how sexy it is when women say no. We talked about desire. And then we started talking about female friendships. Honestly, this is where I started crying because this era in my life has really showed me how beautiful and impactful girlfriends are.
