Our key takeaways from NFL Week 6 That's what we're talking about today on RotoViz Overtime. My name is Colm Kelly. I am joined as always by Shawn Siegel and lots of different ins and outs of the week that set up in an interesting way. Shawn, unfortunately, quite a few injuries this week, so there's going to be some discussions maybe about next man up over the course of the week. And it's always disappointing when that happens. We had a couple of injuries on Monday night. Football one that looks to be a season ender, unfortunately, one that will be maybe a few weeks, but maybe not season end. And so we'll talk through all that as we work through it, but always disappointing to see players go down. And it does give an opportunity to the next men up on that roster. Sometimes there is, sometimes there isn't a next man up. And unfortunately, the team takes a big hit. And I guess when we're talking about injuries that happened, it wasn't necessarily an injury that happened during this week, Shawn, but a player who has gone on season end and injured reserve is Jalen Hurts. That's a pretty scary situation with what's going on with him. So wishing him all the best and full recovery, but lots of kind of different pieces where players are unavailable for fantasy managers as we move forward. But in situations like with player injuries, with medical situations, obviously, football, fantasy football, all that stuff is very, very much on the lower end of the spectrum for that. Shawn, though, kicking off, I'm going to start off on a fantasy football note as it is a fantasy football podcast and look into a disappointing outcome that we had, because I knew going into Monday Night Football, Shawn, our number one seeded team in the FFPC RotoViz Triflex League, was in good shape with a chance to gather up some extra points and maybe extend the lead over there with some extra victory points.
Shawn, the 0.04 point loss, a real dagger on Monday Night Football, it was Jaden Daniels up against Chig Okonkwo for who would take that out on top. And unfortunately for us, Chig got 17.4 points, Jaden Daniels finished with the 21 points. We lose 127.48 to 127.52 to Rumham John. But close when we're still number one seeds, but those two victory points that we would have got would have elevated it to a three point gap between the first and second seed and really had a set up. This could be the game we look back on if we miss out on that first round by Shawn come playoff time.
Shawn Siegele (3:48)
It could. It could. That's one of the closest ones I have seen. Although it's important to point out and the our 11 league mates, I'm sure, are on top of the fact that, Colin, we advanced to the playoffs last year by one yard.
Colm Kelly (4:03)
Shawn, none of that.
Shawn Siegele (4:03)
One yard.
Colm Kelly (4:06)
We lost. This is heartbreaking stuff for us here this week.
Shawn Siegele (4:10)
It was too bad when we looked that one up.
Colm Kelly (4:13)
Yeah. I think this could be, you know, when there's like, you have a certain amount of karma or good juju that can go around. Maybe this is the fantasy gods were paying back for that playoff advancement last year from the one yard.
Shawn Siegele (4:31)
Good to see Jaden Daniels look relatively good.
