**Adam Carolla** (0:00)
Well, in this episode, Ari Shaffir comes and joins me. Very funny. Also, the news with Rudy Pavich, and we'll do all that right after this.
This is Adam Carolla from The Adam Carolla Show. If you care about predictions, you care about props. And right now, it's all about playoff, pressure from the hardwood to the ice. Every possession, every shift, every shot, well, it all matters. BetOnline has always been the home of real sports betting. And in the NHL, it's all speed, grit and sudden death moments where one goal changes everything. Lines tighten, pressure builds, and BetOnline delivers live betting and in-game odds that move with every bucket, every breakaway, every goal.
This is where the action happens. Where experience shows and where the smallest edge makes the biggest difference. BetOnline, the game starts here.

From Corolla One Studios in Glendale, California, this is the Adam Carolla Show. Adam's guest today, Ari Shaffir, plus the news with Rudy Pavich, and now, Adam Carolla.
**Adam Carolla** (1:40)
Yeah, get it on, man, Ari Shaffir in the studio. Good to see you, my friend.
**Ari Shaffir** (1:45)
Love jumping into a pod right after a nice rant.
**Adam Carolla** (1:48)
Always ranting, on and off the air. What's Adam really like?
**Ari Shaffir** (1:53)
Well, pretty much the same, guys. That's the same.
**Adam Carolla** (1:55)
The End is the storytelling show that is available to stream right now on YMH now, and tell us about how this all got started.
**Ari Shaffir** (2:07)
Yeah, yeah, you could go arishaffir.com, it's easier to remember.
Well, I had another storytelling show, this is not happening. I kind of think you've done it before.
**Adam Carolla** (2:17)
Probably.
**Ari Shaffir** (2:18)
Yeah. It was in LA for the longest time.
**Adam Carolla** (2:21)
I've done everything eventually.
**Ari Shaffir** (2:23)
Yeah. I had to think, you've had so many stories.
Have you ever did a carpentry episode?
**Adam Carolla** (2:28)
Oh, let's do a carpentry episode.
**Ari Shaffir** (2:30)
Yeah.
**Adam Carolla** (2:31)
I'll tell you, man, people need a hobby.
This part of the reason everyone, I'll get every nutty person on the street who's out there protesting and fighting with ICE and screaming about Trump and doing, no hobbies. No hobbies. Ships and bottles. People used to build ships and bottles.
**Ari Shaffir** (2:51)
Yeah.
**Adam Carolla** (2:51)
They'd go, I can't protest. I can't fight ICE. I'm finishing my ship.
**Ari Shaffir** (2:56)
Yeah. Well, I just got, I was gone from the country for a while.
**Adam Carolla** (3:00)
Yeah. Where were you?
**Ari Shaffir** (3:01)
It's Latin America.
**Adam Carolla** (3:03)
Tell me about it.
**Ari Shaffir** (3:03)
Eight months, gone.
**Adam Carolla** (3:05)
Eight months?
**Ari Shaffir** (3:05)
Yeah. I wasn't looking at any news too. I didn't have my phone with me. I got a new burner phone when I got down there. So I wasn't keeping up.
**Adam Carolla** (3:12)
Are these experiences for you a quest for adventure or sanity?
**Ari Shaffir** (3:19)
Oh, no. It's cool. Interesting. Yeah, maybe both. Yeah, the sanity, the going there is for the adventure and then not bringing my phone or my email. That's for sanity. So it's like two at once.
**Adam Carolla** (3:29)
Right. So you are compelled to seek these kinds of adventures that we're all envious of, by the way, because everyone would like that freedom.
**Ari Shaffir** (3:42)
Yeah.
Yeah. Everyone has it in our industry. They just don't take it.
**Adam Carolla** (3:48)
Yeah. Well, there's a few things. You don't have kids and alimony and all that kind of stuff. So that sort of forces a schedule on you, unfortunately.
**Ari Shaffir** (4:03)
You can't tell an ex, like, hey, you're not getting paid this month because I'm not getting paid. So you're getting half of nothing for this month.
**Adam Carolla** (4:09)
It'd be nice, but no. So you feel compelled to stay in the hamster wheel, so to speak. You can't take eight months off.
**Ari Shaffir** (4:19)
Yeah, but your Corolla's paid off.
**Adam Carolla** (4:22)
Well, no, and listen, anybody can rearrange things and pull it off. I could too. But the problem is in business, in show business, you feel like there's some sort of irrelevancy you're going to slip into.
And so you're essentially a speeding train and you have to throw track out ahead of you all the time. And going out for eight months is not you throwing track out ahead of you.
