Welcome to Brief Recess. I'm Michael Foote.
Mélissa Malebranche (0:25)
I'm Mélissa Malebranche.
Michael Foote (0:26)
Today, we're going to talk about Paranormal Activity on Broadway. We're going to do a PSA to stop taking your dogs everywhere. We discussed the Cornell 7 and the Nolan Wells case. Then we sit down with Corinna Lain to discuss the recent failed execution in Tennessee. And we're going to answer all your questions from the DMs. So stick around.
I did it in one take.
Mélissa Malebranche (0:47)
You're a professional.
Michael Foote (0:48)
I get one cigarette now. That's my treat. One drunk cigarette per year.
Leave that in. I want my husband to see that. I want him to know. What? That I'm going to have a drunk cigarette this year.
Mélissa Malebranche (1:01)
A drunk cigarette?
Michael Foote (1:02)
One drunk cigarette a year, I think is okay.
Surgeon's general warning. Just one.
Mélissa Malebranche (1:08)
Just one?
Michael Foote (1:09)
One a year? They say it takes five minutes of your life.
Mélissa Malebranche (1:12)
Okay. I mean.
Michael Foote (1:13)
What am I going to do with those five minutes?
Mélissa Malebranche (1:15)
Yeah. Smoke.
Michael Foote (1:20)
He's sick of me.
Mélissa Malebranche (1:21)
He's so sick of this shit. Are you going to do a Halloween? Do you and Brad do stuff for Halloween?
Michael Foote (1:29)
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Mélissa Malebranche (1:30)
No, no, no.
Michael Foote (1:31)
We always do a Halloween like a couple's costume.
Mélissa Malebranche (1:34)
Or any costume.
Michael Foote (1:35)
Let's get into a sidebar about people who do fucking couples' costumes.
Mélissa Malebranche (1:37)
Oh, boy.
Michael Foote (1:40)
I'm sick of it.
Mélissa Malebranche (1:41)
Are you?
Michael Foote (1:42)
I want a group costume. My friend wants to do the Gilmore Girls episode where Laura Lesh shows up to Chilton in its laundry day, the first day of Chilton.
Is that too niche?
Mélissa Malebranche (1:55)
Very.
Michael Foote (1:56)
All right. I'm going to be Byron Gnome.
Mélissa Malebranche (2:00)
That's too easy. That's too easy.
Michael Foote (2:04)
Let's be Lauren Boebert's staff. Ooh.
Mélissa Malebranche (2:08)
Ooh. Okay.
I literally just thought about it and asked you a question and got more than I anticipated.
Michael Foote (2:16)
Brad and I did, okay, so this is before Hated Rivalry.
We were tattoo all the things she said, the lesbian school girls for Halloween. You know the infamous music video. Famous, infamous. We were the Russian school girls, one Halloween. But I forgot my skirt. I left my skirt at home.
Mélissa Malebranche (2:40)
So you didn't do it. So Brad did it.
Michael Foote (2:42)
I was from the waist up. Yes, I was.
Mélissa Malebranche (2:45)
Yeah, but the skirt is...
Michael Foote (2:46)
It was pretty inter, people were pretty confused.
Mélissa Malebranche (2:50)
I can imagine. Yeah, yeah.
Andre and I, would I... Yeah, what did you do? Well, we haven't done anything in a long time, but we used to do couple of costumes. However, they were always like super cheesy. Do you know what I mean? It wasn't like, we didn't think about it really hard. I would go and I would buy something dumb, like he was salt, I was pepper. Like it was dumb, stuff like that. But I'm going with my brother and sister-in-law to take the baby out for his first sort of Halloween. Okay.
And I feel like I should dress up. But it needs to be something that I could do myself.
Michael Foote (3:30)
If one of you was like pizza and the other was a rat. That she was like a little slice of pizza.
Mélissa Malebranche (3:36)
He was like a little slice of pizza. I love that.
Michael Foote (3:38)
If you're going to do a couple's costume, it's got to be like, it's got to be.
Mélissa Malebranche (3:41)
I think it needs to be.
Michael Foote (3:42)
My concept.
Mélissa Malebranche (3:43)
Very cute.
Michael Foote (3:44)
Yeah.
Mélissa Malebranche (3:45)
Or cheesy so that people know that you're making fun of it. Do you know what I mean? Not like, we really thought about this.
Michael Foote (3:53)
Or super niche, like an electrocuted rat and then like the third rail. You know what I mean? Like you want it to be kind of, can we get into an algorithm is showing actually?
