Love Thang

December 17, 2024

Words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, acts of service or gifts....what's your love language? This week on Love Thang, Punkie, and Dicey, sort out how they like to give and receive love.

Speakers Punkie Johnson, Gary Curtis

SPEAKER_2 (0:02)

Funky, the people want to hear from you.

Punkie Johnson (0:28)

What's up, everybody?

SPEAKER_2 (0:30)

And I'm Dicey.

Punkie Johnson (0:32)

And you are tuned in to the Love Thang with me and my dog, my bestie, Dicey. We keep it real and raw about all things love, sex, and relationships, and that means no holding and no sugarcoating.

SPEAKER_2 (0:41)

That's right. From one-night stands to situationships, we've got tales from the bedroom to share, and we got advice to give, because, look, we have been through all of this shit, so we're here to help you navigate through your work.

Punkie Johnson (0:52)

That's right, everybody. So sit back, relax, and get ready for the Love Thang.

SPEAKER_2 (1:00)

What's up? How you doing?

Punkie Johnson (1:02)

Nothing, man. We've been acting a fool on this tour. I mean, we ate shows in. We got 42 left.

My voice is gone.

SPEAKER_2 (1:13)

Yep.

Punkie Johnson (1:14)

You gave me a cough.

SPEAKER_2 (1:15)

I did not give you that cough. Please don't blame that cough on me. I had that cough at least three weeks ago, four weeks ago now.

Punkie Johnson (1:21)

Yeah, well, it chilled in my body, and then it popped up a couple days ago. You gave it to me.

SPEAKER_2 (1:27)

You need to check with your immune system.

Punkie Johnson (1:29)

I ain't got to do none of that, man. I'm good. I'm healthy. But how are you?

SPEAKER_2 (1:32)

I'm good. You know what?

Punkie Johnson (1:33)

What?

SPEAKER_2 (1:34)

I woke up this morning in such a great mood. Just so y'all know out there, I've been staying at Punkie's house, house sitting when she's not there, and making a lot of a mess, a whole lot of mess. I drank all the rest of your tequila.

And what else did I do? I boiled my ponytail this morning in your pot.

Punkie Johnson (1:50)

You boiled your head in my pot?

SPEAKER_2 (1:52)

You know what? Because you boiled penises in there. So I was like, clearly I could put my connecola on off in there.

Punkie Johnson (1:59)

Which one of my pots you put your head in, Dicey? I'm not messing around. I'm going to kick your ass.

It better not smell like Sally's and Beauty Mart when I walk back up in the house.

SPEAKER_2 (2:09)

It's going to smell like black girl magic in there when you come in there. And veggie sausage that I cooked this morning with my blueberry waffles.

Punkie Johnson (2:16)

I don't want you cooking nothing vegetarian. I don't want no fish up in there, nothing.

SPEAKER_2 (2:20)

I made tuna steaks the other day, and you didn't even know this, but I took one of the containers, one of your containers.

She got them real good ones that seal on the side with the little handles on the side, got the flap down. I took that. That was in the refrigerator. I put tuna steaks in there.

Punkie Johnson (2:35)

Oh, God.

SPEAKER_2 (2:36)

And I knew I was going to bring it back, so.

Punkie Johnson (2:38)

Well, you told me you had a surprise for me today. What is it?

SPEAKER_2 (2:40)

That was a surprise, that I boiled my ponytail in your pot.

Punkie Johnson (2:44)

It wasn't my...

SPEAKER_2 (2:45)

Surprise!

Punkie Johnson (2:45)

All right, y'all, let's get down to it. I say this every episode, but I really do enjoy these topics. Number one, full disclaimer, excuse my voice. I've been running around, I've been screaming, and acting a fool. So this is just what I got, y'all. I hope y'all can bear through it. But love languages, Dicey.

I love love languages. I never did before. Never did before. Love languages is something that I recently just learned about.

I wish I would have known just a little bit more about love languages. When I was married, I could have been a way better partner.

But now that I have developed some type of understanding, I feel that I could become a better lover. And I would like to share that with everyone. And if I could just save one or two people with what I've learned about love languages, I would be so happy.

For those of you who don't know, a love language is the way your partner wants to be loved, how they receive love, and how they show love. I read that there are five love languages. There are words of affirmation, which is, you're beautiful, you're looking good today, come in and mislap that ass, ex of service. Hey, can I help you with something? Hey, do you need me to do this for you? Hey, you look tired, would you like a massage? Receiving gifts?
