what should a christian's sex life look like?
Marry Me Everyday
October 16, 2026
We dove into some questions asked to us by the community. Specifically about sex and how critical it is in a healthy marriage. This is one of those topics that is taboo and mostly been ignored by a majority of the church.....

Yeah, we're just gonna talk about a whole lot of sex.
Sophie Rissman (0:02)
Hold on.
Gideon Rissman (0:04)
A whole lot of dirty, nasty stuff.
Sophie Rissman (0:07)
Yeah, maybe not.
Gideon Rissman (0:08)
This is when we go back to episode one, where I said, if your kids are in the room, or they're around you, you might want to remove them from the situation.
Sophie Rissman (0:18)
Put your headphones in, or if it's being played over a car, definitely don't, because this episode, we're diving into sex.
Back in, was it May, I think, or maybe even before, we had posted on my Instagram page, essentially opening up a Google Doc, or a Google Form. The number one most requested topic was sex, and mitch-match libidoes.
What was the other part of it?
Gideon Rissman (0:53)
It's just intimacy.
Sophie Rissman (0:54)
Intimacy, yeah.
Gideon Rissman (0:55)
Intimacy was like, it won by like, I can't remember the percentage, but it was like, pretty much a landslide, if I remember correctly.
Sophie Rissman (1:01)
But you know, that's like, super interesting to me at the same time, because most, what is, what is the, the top two things that are causing issues in marriages? Isn't it sex and money?
Gideon Rissman (1:14)
I think sex and money. But we actually have multiple topics.
We have number one, which was intimacy, sex, and libido mismatch. That's this episode. And then we had parenting, kids, and motherhood. That's another one. Faith, God, Christ-centered marriage, pregnancy, postpartum fertility, and finances and money.
Sophie Rissman (1:36)
Yeah, which I think we actually have a couple coming in who, I'm not going to say too much about it yet. What?
Gideon Rissman (1:48)
I just heard something.
Sophie Rissman (1:49)
Go ahead. And I'm actually going to bombard them, low key.
They'll be fine. They'll be all right. Because I know that they've kind of wanted to come on here too, but they're going to be the finance people. So I'm not going to say next episode, but...
Gideon Rissman (2:06)
My thighs are showing a little bit.
Sophie Rissman (2:08)
Yeah, we're talking about sex, and you're over here showing a little skin. Cover that up. Anyways, within the next couple of episodes, we'll be talking about finances.
So I find that you showing your thigh is so funny to me, because you know what that just reminded me of? Whenever we were like in middle school and high school, and you had to, you weren't allowed to... Don't smack it near me.
Gideon Rissman (2:36)
Told you.
Sophie Rissman (2:41)
Can I get you back now? You just like, are you good?
Gideon Rissman (2:48)
Okay, I think we're good now.
Sophie Rissman (2:50)
Okay.
Gideon Rissman (2:52)
Go ahead.
Sophie Rissman (2:54)
I was just going to say, I find it funny that you're showing a little bit of thigh because of high school, middle school, where you had to like have your shoulders covered.
You remember? Because it was inappropriate or whatever. And I remember the biggest argument was always like, when did shoulders become sexual?
Gideon Rissman (3:13)
Oh, yeah.
Sophie Rissman (3:14)
That thing.
That just reminded me of that. All right.
Gideon Rissman (3:18)
So we're going to start this episode out with these questions.
Sophie Rissman (3:22)
You should preface. We don't know them yet.
Gideon Rissman (3:24)
Yeah, we don't know these.
How do you keep your intimate and sexual side of your relationship fulfilling as the wife and having four babies? I'm so exhausted at the end of the day. The last thing I want to do is that. I also struggle when I don't feel loved daily. I know he loves me, but it's hard for me to be like a man and be ready to go at the drop of a hat. He has communicated that when I turn him down, it makes him feel unloved by me, but it's just I'm too tired. I'm going to hit you with the first part of the question. I'm going to re-say it so you know. How do you keep your intimate and sexual side of your relationship fulfilling?
As the wife, they've got four babies, right? They're exhausted. She's exhausted at the end of the day. The last thing she wants to do is have sex.
Sophie Rissman (4:13)
First off, I think that that's literally every woman. I don't want to have sex at the end of the day most times, personally.
But I also think that there needs to be a kind of compromise because I feel like as a wife, if you haven't communicated that to your husband yet, you need to. And most times for us to keep that fulfilling and easier, it is the mornings. And I've told you that before, I've communicated that. Now, it hasn't been, it's been a lot harder, you know, getting very personal recently, I think, for us, because I'm very pregnant and the hormonal just ups and downs.
