What and When is the Rapture? - Part 2

We're talking about a personal visible return of Christ. This isn't an angel returning to gather the church. This isn't some other divine event. This isn't the Holy Spirit. This is Jesus himself.

Hi, this is Jim Scudder, and today on InGrace, we are going to talk about the End Times. Armageddon's Dawn is the series title, and my message today is What and When is the Rapture? And we're going to talk about this, and this is one of those doctrinal things we find in Scripture very plain, very clear, and it really makes sense to me because we're in this special age, this age of the church, where we're not Jew or Gentile, we're not male or female, blonde or free, we're one in Christ. And so it began, I believe, at Pentecost, and it will end at a certain point, and I believe that certain point is the Rapture. Then God can deal exclusively once again with Israel, the nation, as they're on the back burner now, He'll put them back on the front burner as we are removed. And so we're going to explore this some more today. We yesterday looked at really important passages, and by the way, this view is a little bit disparaged today, but I believe this one is the view that we hold here on InGrace and Quintin Road Baptist Church. It's a view that really helps you understand all of Bible prophecy. It's really the only view that everything falls into place, and that's why I hold to it. But we yesterday looked at 1 Thessalonians 4.13, and it's this idea of, we don't want you to be ignorant for them that have died in Christ.
They have hope, because if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them which sleep in Jesus, those that have died, will God bring with him. So it's this idea that the Lord is coming to, in the clouds, and we will be caught up in the air, in verse 17, to meet the Lord in the air, and so ever be with him. And then beginning this seven year, this final week, this final seven year period will commence. So we're gonna talk about this more today, and I'm gonna give you other scripture that I believe backs up this principle. And also, I'm not giving you a date because those that have dated the rapture are wrong. It won't be on those dates. But we can know the season, the times of the end times, and so I believe we're getting near those times. Some Christians think that we're gonna go through some of the tribulation. I mean, I don't know, after you read 1 Thessalonians 4 and in Corinthians, I mean, and many other places, we have clear doctrinal teaching of the return of the Lord to gather the church. So I don't know any way to say that that's, there is no rapture. So the question then is for Christians, when is the rapture? Is it what I believe, which is before the tribulation? Some Christians believe it's in the middle of the tribulation, and some Christians believe it's at the end of the tribulation. We'll get more into this next time, but I'll just tell you real quick, if it were in the middle of the tribulation, I could tell you exactly when it would be, because I know exactly when the middle of the tribulation will be. It'll be exactly three and a half years after the Antichrist signs a seven year treaty with Israel, a peace treaty. Isn't that interesting though? There's a call by every president of the United States, even our current president, for peace in the Middle East?
