Welcome to the Family - The Love Triangle (Hulu)

Ellyn Marsh (0:00)

Why are we going to Paris? You're supposed to take me to Paris.

Joey Taranto (0:03)

I mean, soon.

Ellyn Marsh (0:04)

Did you make the plans? You know, I don't like making plans. Get the flights, do all the things. Just, I don't wanna do it. You're supposed to take me to Paris.

Joey Taranto (0:11)

Oh, you know what we could do is, I'll do my art show there, and you can just hang out. Maybe you'll meet some people who are fans of yours, and you can like set up a dinner, but then I'll probably ask you for more help, and you'll be late to the dinner, and then maybe your ex will show up.

Ellyn Marsh (0:24)

Not everything is sex in the city, Joey!

Oh, damn, bitch society. You do not know the breath of sighing fresh air. Think about it, I haven't. I breathe when I know we are recording for the Patreon and the Patreon only.

Joey Taranto (0:40)

I'm very happy we're here. It's like they say in France, hey guys.

Ellyn Marsh (0:46)

You love the sex? I love the sex. We all love the sex.

SPEAKER_4 (0:49)

She loves the sex.

Joey Taranto (0:51)

I'm good, how are you doing?

Ellyn Marsh (0:53)

Were you satisfied with that finale?

Joey Taranto (0:55)

No.

Ellyn Marsh (0:55)

I didn't like the whole Russian plot line at all.

Joey Taranto (0:59)

It just really cemented for so many reasons why I don't like Carrie Bradshaw.

Ellyn Marsh (1:03)

Did you say cemented?

Joey Taranto (1:05)

Did I say cemented?

Ellyn Marsh (1:06)

I think you did, but also I don't have good hearing. You got mabas in your mouth and I don't have good hearing. We are not a dynamic duo.

Joey Taranto (1:12)

Y'all, I meant cemented. And if you didn't know that, then you don't know me at all. If you don't know me.

Anyway, no, I didn't like it. Did you like the end?

Ellyn Marsh (1:20)

I didn't like the whole last season, but I will watch anything. I mean, I watched And There You Have It, and I didn't like any of it. I just watched it because I liked it.

Joey Taranto (1:28)

I couldn't watch it anymore.

Ellyn Marsh (1:29)

And There You Have It. That's one of my favorite stories of my mom.

Joey Taranto (1:34)

And There You Have It, and what we have is something I don't want at all. It's so bad. Anyway, what did you think, one person? Start a thread on the Facebook group and let's discuss what we think of the last season and also all of the characters. I personally think that the biggest reason that And There You Have It, as my sister likes to call it and just like that, did not work is because they didn't have Samantha.

Ellyn Marsh (1:57)

One thousand percent. Anybody who did not think that Samantha was the beating heart of that show is an idiot. When you're younger and stupid, you think it's Carrie, it's actually Samantha. There was no show without Samantha. Samantha was the DB, always and forever. They all had moments of being a DB and Samantha is the only one who was a DB through and through. She was the only one who was Carrie's voice of reason. We should do a Sex of the City podcast.

Joey Taranto (2:25)

We should not, but I mean my favorite one. Don't you want to judge me just a little? Not my style. Ah! Okay, remember that we're covering Welcome to the Family.

Ellyn Marsh (2:36)

I really like this documentary. Joey and I have been talking about it. If you have Hulu, it's really great. I don't think it's really great if you are a deep, deep diver into this, but it is a great outline of this case.

Joey Taranto (2:50)

Yeah.

Ellyn Marsh (2:50)

Welcome to the Family, episode two, The Love Triangle.

SPEAKER_5 (2:57)

They just seem like the perfect couple.

SPEAKER_6 (3:01)

It was a better divorce, and her family. We're very well-to-do, wealthy people out of South Florida.

SPEAKER_7 (3:08)

They hated Danny.

SPEAKER_5 (3:14)

Who would do this?

SPEAKER_6 (3:16)

There was so many players in this investigation.

SPEAKER_5 (3:31)

Thank you. Have you all did a plot to kill your brother-in-law, Dan Markell?

SPEAKER_9 (3:36)

Katie, did you have anything to do with the murder I'm sure of?

SPEAKER_7 (3:40)

Dan Markell. No, man.

SPEAKER_5 (3:43)

She called me and said, you know, just want to let you know, the police come around, don't talk to them.

SPEAKER_11 (3:50)

She's gonna screw my life.

SPEAKER_12 (3:51)

That's what she has to do.

SPEAKER_7 (3:53)
