Jason Moore (1:02)

Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright.

Andy Holloway (1:20)

Welcome in.

Pandemonium, pandemonium, moments before the show began, just trades happening in League of Record, people trading for big names, Jonathan Taylor, Lamar Jackson, Josh Jacobs. So, I'm throwing off a little bit because...

Jason Moore (1:48)

Yeah, I know. This show doesn't exist.

Andy Holloway (1:52)

Right now, it's just, gosh, people positioning for the stretch run. But I mean, that's what you guys are doing out there.

Injuries galore this year. My super team has already lost two starters for the season.

Mike Wright (2:09)

We lost another one yesterday with Terry.

Jason Moore (2:14)

Oh, yeah, Terry McLaurin.

Andy Holloway (2:15)

I mean, yesterday was also when we got the news on Devontae Adams.

Mike Wright (2:18)

I don't think we got news. Yeah, sorry, I'm jumping ahead. I was so bummed out.

Terry, you remember the Nick Chubb injury, where it was on the Cleveland, when he got hit, and it felt like everybody went.

Jason Moore (2:34)

Yeah. Yeah, I mean, that's how I feel about Terry. Because it basically feels like a career.

Mike Wright (2:39)

Yeah, but it's all like, I love Terry McLaurin, man. Like, I'm emotionally connected to this man.

Andy Holloway (2:45)

Here's what makes that situation, so those that didn't see 49ers 23, Commander 17 last night, Terry McLaurin went down with a minute 40 left in the first quarter, and-

Mike Wright (2:55)

Non-contact, immediately grabbed his knee.

Andy Holloway (2:57)

Yeah, it's, what I was gonna get at was that the commanders were just lambasted. That's a word, right?

Jason Moore (3:05)

Yeah, I think it's lambasted, but-

Andy Holloway (3:07)

Sure.

Mike Wright (3:08)

No, tomato, tomato.

Andy Holloway (3:09)

Tomato, tomato, for not paying him in time.

Jason Moore (3:14)

Right.

Andy Holloway (3:14)

Now, he was an older wide receiver when the contract got, he came out, he was holding out, they bring him back. He has been worth, I mean, not his fault, got hurt, but also like, we're like, man, pay the man.

He comes back early, or sorry, he came back late, got the contract, instantly hurt, this is most of the year, comes back. Now, this is a catastrophic injury. I mean, how old is Terry McLaurin when he recovers from this? 32? Yeah, exactly. I mean, they should not have paid him.

They could have paid him as a reward for being there during the dog days. But I'm just saying, in retrospect, teams are put in a really tough position.

Mike Wright (3:58)

Sure.

Andy Holloway (3:58)

When they have an older player that has done a lot for the team and the franchise, and you want to pay them and reward them, but you know that the clock is against them. Of all the weeks, in the last two weeks now, we did that study.

Jason Moore (4:13)

Oh my gosh. I see where you're going.

Andy Holloway (4:15)

Yeah.

Jason Moore (4:16)

It was all this week.

Andy Holloway (4:18)

Yeah, it was all this week. One of the studies I did in the off-season was, let's find out what happens to the oldest fantasy players that are drafted in the top six rounds, years gone by. And the super, super outlier Travis Kelceys and stuff were the ones that performed.

Jason Moore (4:37)

Derrick Henry and Derrick Henry and Derrick Henry.

Andy Holloway (4:40)

So the three names at wide receiver that were on that list, Devontae Adams, who now tore his hamstring, that's the report, six to 10 weeks. Mike Evans, who went out there hobbling and left immediately with an Achilles injury.
