After a season where it feels like waivers have been barren all year, we finally have some great players to pick up. Injuries have opened up opportunities, and on top of that, we've got a lot of injured players coming back from IR. Today, Joey Wright and I, we're going to talk about 27 players on the waiver wire. We're going to start with guys available in almost every league out there, and then just get our way a little bit deeper and deeper down into the rankings. And Joey, let's start off with the top of these rankings here. Now, these guys are going to be available in not quite as many leagues, but these are the guys that you want to make sure are rostered in every league, like your 10-team league with a short bench. These guys should be rostered. Let's start with Tyrone Tracy and Jordan Tyson.

These are the guys if you're in a fab league, even if it's a short league, you're dropping a substantial amount of fab on these players. If you've got the first waiver priority, these are the guys that you're spending it on. Let me ask you, Joey, if you've got that top waiver priority, if you're looking to really spend some fab, would you prefer Jordan Tyson or Tyrone Tracy this week?

Joey Wright (1:03)

Even though I'm Harvey Needy in many, many, many leagues, Dave, I would choose Jordan Tyson. I just think the upside that he has the rest of the season to step into this New Orleans offense that we've seen look pretty explosive in spots, especially when the matchups are there. Jordan Tyson would be my pick.

It's not that I don't like Tyrone Tracy. If you listen to the show earlier in the season, in the preseason, I was all in on Tyrone Tracy. I just think Harbaugh is trying to figure out what they've got going on right now with the Giants. I think we're going to see JJ McCarthy get to start this week. And the RB committee there is going to be kind of a revolving door. I think once they get into that week eight buy, they're going to get a good look at what they have and then kind of move from there. But Tyrone Tracy is getting involved in the passing game last week. Eight total touches, 45 yards, two touchdowns. The two touchdowns makes his day look really good. But as far as the running backs, he looked the most explosive. We didn't get to see Cam Scadaboo at all. So maybe he comes back this week coming up.

It's just a little bit more of a shaky, not a shaky, just more of a speculative ad on Tracy, where I do believe Jordan Tyson will be involved the rest of the season.

Dave Kluge (2:04)

Never wrong, only sometimes early, Joey. I think Tyrone Tracy is the best running back in this backfield, bar none. I think that he is without a doubt the most talented running back. But Cam Scadaboo with the fumbling issues, that has kind of put him in the doghouse. Najee Harris hasn't really recaptured anything from his pre-injury form. Devin Singletary, Motor, you know, he's just a guy who does all the right things and he's going to get his 600, 700 yards every single year. But I think Tyrone Tracy, because of that miss blocking assignment in the preseason and then the week one fumble, he ended up in the doghouse. I mean, weeks two, three and four, he totaled two touches. Like he was not getting any work whatsoever. So he did come back in week five and cough up another fumble. Unfortunately, that's what he does. That's why he's a converted wide receiver because his ball skills are terrible. But he does have speed. He's got the big play upside as well. And just enough passing chops that he can be involved as a receiver. So I don't know what's going to happen between now and the trade deadline. But I do find it hard to believe that they're going to keep trotting out a four way committee of Najee Harris, Cam Scadaboo, Tyrone Tracy, and Devin Singletary. I think Tyrone Tracy could be traded, Scadaboo could be traded. One of these guys could potentially get released. I feel like Tyrone Tracy is at least worth a pick up because the upside is there. But I agree with you that I think Jordan Tyson is the name here that can be a league winner. We're using him on today's thumbnail because this is a guy drafted 8th overall. Joey, you and I talked a lot during the spring. I mean, I prefer Jordan Tyson to Karnel Tate. The big asterisk there, of course, was the hamstring injury. Jordan Tyson has been hampered by this hamstring injury since last year at college. It plagued him through the pre-draft process, through OTAs, through training camp. We got like a two-week window where Jordan Tyson was healthy at St. Training Camp this year, and it was like a daily highlight was coming out of him just breaking defensive backs' ankles. I mean, he is one of the crispest route runners out there. Injuries have been the problem, but Joey, I don't think it's crazy to say that a healthy Jordan Tyson would not only be the best rookie in this wide, or the best wide receiver in this rookie class, but could be like a top 20 wide receiver. Like, we're seeing a lot of teams out there supporting two wide receivers. The Saints have had so much volume in this passing attack that I think Chris Olave can still be a wide receiver one, and you can still get kind of the T. Higgins, Jalen Coker, Matthew Golden type of production from Jordan Tyson.
