As we head into week 6, we have enough information that we are panicking about some players, but with that panic comes players that are benefiting and rising up the rankings. And today Bob Harris and I are going to talk about some of the biggest fallers in fantasy football, as well as some of the biggest risers. And Bob, let's start by talking about Tyler Schuck, the QB3 through the first 3 weeks of the season. We have now seen him provide QB31 numbers over the last 2 weeks of the season. It seems like the Vikings and Falcons may have shown the blueprint for how to stop Tyler Schuck and that has just put him under immense pressure. Are you worried about this or were those just 2 really tough matchups?
Bob Harris (0:48)
They were 2 really tough matchups. Also, I am worried about it. Both things are true though, the blocking has fallen apart there.
Like against the Vikings, pretty much everyone has these issues.
What was the blitz rate in that game? Like about 90% of his drop backs, they were blitzing. Brian Flores is out for blood, people. Remember that when your team or your quarterback is facing the Vikings. But beyond that, I mean, like he still has the weapons. They still can't run the ball. That's both a blessing and a curse for him because it leads to great volume. Great volume leads to production. You know, like the bloom has come off a little bit, right? There's no doubt about it. And he's kind of doing it the reverse of what we saw last year, where started slow, gained momentum. Now it's going the opposite. I think it's a blip, but it's fair to look at the matchups, especially if you have viable options, and consider weekly benchings at any point.
Dave Kluge (1:40)
And I think that's it. You know, coming out of week three, we were probably looking at Chuck as a guy who had ascended into must start territory. And now we're saying that now he's probably more in that streamer discussion. And then Bob, I know you do a weekly show with Matt Waldman. We both talked to Matt Waldman a lot. We both really appreciate Matt Waldman. And he likes to talk about how once a quarterback gets those first 16, 17 games on tape, that's when the test really comes for them in the NFL. So I think Chuck may have surprised a lot of people last year as a rookie. But now we're starting to realize, like, if you can put pressure on him, yeah, he's going to stand tall in the pocket. He's going to make those throws. But with that, there's also going to come some errant throws and some sacks and some rushed opportunities. So of course, you know, we saw two very good pass rushes on blitz heavy teams. We don't know if every team can recreate that. But we do see a way to kind of, you know, poke a hole in the Tyler Shug armor.
Bob Harris (2:31)
But we know the Saints can't run the football and that allows opposing defences to tee off on the pass rush and probably good. And the last two games are going to inform future opponents of what the plan is.
Dave Kluge (2:42)
Well, we have more fallers to discuss players that we are panicking about. And we also have some players that we're going to talk about rising at the second half of the show. But before we get into that, go ahead. Give us that thumbs up on YouTube. Means the world to us that you we know you like this video and then also subscribe. If you're new here, I'm doing a show today with Bob, but you can go back to Monday where Joey Wright, Jeff Bell and I recap every single week five game. Joey Wright and I did waivers yesterday. I'm here today with Bob. Tomorrow, I'm going to be with Dan Hindery talking about our starts, sits and streamers heading into week six. And then Jeff Bell and I doing a full matchup preview episode on Friday morning. So hit that subscribe button and hang out with us. But Bob, let's talk about some more fallers and Jeremiah Love. Talked about him last week. We're going to talk about him again this week. We got that longest year of my life clip coming out of last week's game. And then what happens in week five? 12 carries for 22 yards. Not feeling too great about this, Bob Harris. How about you?
Bob Harris (3:36)
We shouldn't feel too great about any of the cardinals right now.
But I don't want to overstate this, right? Like we should have expected this to be a bit of a build. People were telling us throughout training camp that there's going to be more of a split, like a Tyler Algier split, like he saw with Bijan Robinson, his rookie, Bijan's rookie year. Well, it's not there yet. It's still as much, it's kind of a bit back and forth, but he's still running back 24, granted a lot of it on the steam of a running back four finish in week three.
