Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Rotoworld Football Show. It's Thursday, October 8th, 2026 I'm Patrick Daugherty, joined by Denny Carter, Kyle Dvorchak, and also joined by Week 5, joined by some real football game totals, 54 and a half for the Bills and Rams, 54 and a half for the Lions and Cardinals. All right, that one's not quite as cool.

Eagles, touchdown underdogs in London. Has anyone ever needed to go to London less than the Philadelphia Eagles? We're going to find out this weekend. Bears, Packers, grudge match, 49ers, Seahawks, grudge match. So many great games this week. We're going to break them all down, including every fantasy relevant player. We come right back after this.

We're back, guys. Joined again by all these amazing games, but joined by some just shocking, shocking news out of Denver.

Denny Carter (1:12)

News that you couldn't have seen coming.

Patrick Daugherty (1:15)

Literally no one except for literally anyone with even a cursory knowledge of NFL football thought this was going to happen.

Denny Carter (1:21)

We said this back in February.

Patrick Daugherty (1:24)

People may or may not have been predicting, Denny, this development since the moment it was supposedly not going to happen. It turns out Davis Webb may be not calling the plays the way Sean Payton wanted them called. Again, who could have seen this coming? But he promises it's still going to be a collaborative. Davis Webb is going to look over his shoulder occasionally at the play sheet. Denny, just break this down.

How surprised are you? What might it mean?

Denny Carter (1:51)

Yeah, well, I mean, the writing was on the wall when a reporter asked like, like, Sean, how much can this continue? Like how much longer can this continue? And Sean and Payton was like, that's a good question.

Patrick Daugherty (2:04)

Glad you asked. I did not know that.

Denny Carter (2:06)

Yeah, he said this after after week four, he said, that's a good question. I can't answer right now.

Patrick Daugherty (2:11)

And you see that the reporter was actually someone wearing like head to toe Broncos gear and was clearly a team employee that was planted to ask that question.

Denny Carter (2:20)

I feel like that's kind of part of the course now. But yeah, yeah, they that it was over at that point. But yeah, look, there was no chance that Davis Webb was going to get off to a slow start and keep this play calling thing to himself. There just was no chance. I've covered, I think, two Broncos games this year for us. And I think, but no, no, it's it's fine. I it means you hate me, but it's fine.

And I've watched more Bo Nicks drop backs than anyone alive. And and Sean Payton, I have been paying close attention to Sean Payton, and my guy Sean, he doesn't know what to do during games. He is walking up and down the sideline, talking to people like like pointing at things, but not really, there's not really anything going on. Davis Webb, meanwhile, is constantly staring at his play sheet, rubbing his temples, basically, I don't know what to do. I don't either. I've got nothing here.

Patrick Daugherty (3:14)

So it was like he retired and the whole sideline happened to be his wife. I'm like, will you please go get a hobby or find something to do? Yeah. And this is just, why did this ever happen to begin with? And every time you post that Broncos fan is like, to keep Davis Webb, you idiot. Like, no, duh.

Like, dude, who cares, man? I'm sorry. Oh, my God, we lost Davis Webb.

Denny Carter (3:37)

Davis Webb.

Patrick Daugherty (3:39)

Oh, my God, how will we ever go on? How will we ever go on without Davis Webb? It just was doomed to fail and has now spectacularly failed.

Denny Carter (3:47)

Who knew?

Patrick Daugherty (3:48)

Besides absolutely everybody. More on the Broncos in just a little bit. We begin with the Bills and Rams, though. They're meeting up in Los Angeles. There's some real hoops with the Rams. Field goal home favorites as the game total soars near 55 That's what 54 and a half means. Denny is near 55

The Rams have Puka Nakua back for the time being. Does this mean, though, that Fantasy managers have lost Devonte Adams? There's Nakua splits. Quite striking as usual this year, Denny.

Denny Carter (4:16)

Yeah, the splits are ugly.

You're still playing Devonte Adams in 12 team leagues. That kind of goes without saying. But I did want to just talk about Adams' shifting role when Puka Nakua is in the lineup. So in week four, Adams actually led the team 153 area yards as a 33 percent share. Puka Nakua was at 29 percent of the area yards. It's just that instead of some of the easy button stuff that Devonte was seeing with Puka Nakua out, he's not seeing that. It's an A-dot of over 17, only being targeted on 16 percent of his routes, where it was at 30 or 33 percent with Puka out of the lineup. So what I would say is you're getting a more high variance Y receiver to instead of the most valuable player in Fantasy, which Devonte Adams was for a while.
