Week 4 Waiver Wire Targets

We're heading into week four, and there are players available on your waiver wire right now that are must start options heading into this week. We finally have a good week of waivers, and today Joey Wright and I are going to discuss it all. Joey, let's get in. We both had an agreement at the top of our waiver preference with Braylon Allen available in 78% of leagues. Sounds like Breeze Hall is going to miss some time with a quad injury, but it's even more than that. It's this week, the matchup against Chicago. Braylon Allen feels like a must start running back if he's available.

Yeah, with Breeze Hall being out, I mean, Braylon Allen's next man up, and it doesn't seem like it's going to be a one week thing with Breeze Hall. It might be a few weeks here. So if Braylon Allen's got the runway, we've never really seen him have it before. We've all been wanting him to get it. He's finally going to get it. Anytime he's had double-digit touch, it's in the game. He scored 11 or more fantasy points in each of those games. So there's some optimisms, a little bit of track record. But still, we've not seen him really get a full, full start. So we're finally going to get to see that.

And a lot of it, you would say, okay, well, it's just the opportunity for Braylon Allen. But this Jets offense, I know we're going to talk about a few more Jets players. This Jets offense looks like it's like clued in, like they finally got it figured out. It's spread across the whole field. So it's not just focused on one area, whether it was just, okay, let's just target Garrett Wilson. Now let's just target Bree Sahl. They've got a few guys out there that are scoring fantasy points, scoring real NFL points for teams.

And the Jets offense, I was talking to a friend last night, we're watching Monday Night Football and he's a Dolphins fan. And I was like, dude, the Jets look really good right now, man.

Yeah, and we talked about that a little bit of the preseason, that they were just being written off for dead in the ADB. Nobody wanted anything to do with the Jets. And I understand why. But all I said is, do you know, Smith, if you could just look like 80% of the player he was in Seattle, like this team has the pieces and now they are clicking. With Braylon Allen, though, it feels like one of those guys who has been in the league for a long time. He is still so young, Joey, 22 years old. Like he was 19 years old in the months leading up to the NFL draft. Like he turned 22 months before the NFL draft. Like this kid so young. So he comes into the league, kind of redshirts his first year. Year two, he dealt with a knee injury that knocked him out for the majority of the season. He is healthy now and just off the charts athleticism. Like this guy is just built, like just monstrous. Like if you just Google Braylon Allen, you will be able to see what I'm talking about. He is a huge, huge guy. We already saw the rushing touchdown earlier in the season.

Some split and work with Breeze Hall a little bit, but now going up against Chicago, one of the worst run defenses we have seen in the early part of the NFL season. I mean, I was doing my rankings this morning, Joey.

Braylon Allen slots in as like my RB 14, RB 15, which might sound crazy, but like I was setting some lineups as well. And I've got a team where I drafted Quinchon Judkins in round five. And I said, no, this week I'm playing Braylon Allen ahead of Quinchon Judkins. I mean, this is more than just a good waiver opportunity. This is a young, talented player on an offense that's better than we expect. And he has a great matchup next week.

Yeah, this bears that we watch St. Juan Barclay just kind of run all over the Bears last night, but they've given the eighth most fantasy points this season to opposing running back.

So the matchup is there. Braylon Allen is going to get the opportunity. I'm excited for this week coming up.

Now we got a lot more players that we're going to discuss.
