Every week, we're presented with new information in fantasy football, and we need to adjust by moving players up and down our rankings. And today, Bob Harris and I are going to talk about some of the biggest risers that you need to be targeting in your fantasy football league, and some fallers that it might be time to move on from. Bob, let's start with one of the biggest surprises so far of the 2020-26 season, Deshaun Watson. He's won two straight games, back-to-back 20-point fantasy outings. He's put up the best points that we've seen since 2022 He's the QB 12 in fantasy football through week three. Are you buying into this as Deshaun Watson being a guy that we can start in fantasy football?
Bob Harris (0:46)
I'm buying into the belief that it's possible. I'm not buying into it as something that I'm actively going to do at this point. I mean, it wasn't, as good as it ended up, it was like 10 of 21 for 67 yards and a touchdown through the fourth quarter, going into the fourth quarter. I mean, it wasn't good, but he's pulled off some heroics. More, I think I'm hoping that this offense can be more on schedule than maybe we expected going in. So at some point, Quintchon Judkins' workload starts to bear fruit. And also, we've already seen the receivers like Denzel Boston, Casey Concepcion, Harold Fanon has come to life a little bit. So I think for me, that's the great part about Watson, is he seems to be fueling the fantasy fortunes the players were interested in. And if he turns into a thing, great, I'll readily accept it. I'm not there yet.
Dave Kluge (1:31)
And I think the one thing that's a little bit surprising is we didn't see a lot of mobility during his time in Cleveland because he was dealing with an Achilles or coming back from an Achilles, something along those lines, but he seems healthy now. He is fourth among all quarterbacks in rushing yards. So we are seeing a nice little rushing upside there that we haven't seen since his Houston days. We're going to talk about a bunch more risers and followers. But before we do that, give us that thumbs up here on YouTube. If you're new here, subscribe. We are bringing you daily fantasy content Monday through Friday, every single week between now and week 17 So hit that subscribe button, hit that like button and hang out with us for the rest of this season. But let's go ahead and talk about the next guy we want to talk about, Bache Althooten, another big riser.
And for me, I don't have a really strong analytical argument here. Bob just passes the eye test when you watch a Jaguars game. He looks by far like the best running back there. Of course, Chris Rodriguez is going to vulture the occasional goal line touch. Amir Abdullah and Lint-Quint Allen are going to be on there for passing downs. But can we still look at a viable ceiling here for Bache Althooten, given his role?
Bob Harris (2:29)
I think we can feel pretty comfortable with consistency. He has risen up higher, well, a little higher than we expected, a little higher than we drafted him to be inside the top 20 But the workload, or at least the playing time has been consistent, between 48 and 50% of the snaps. He's gotten about half of the goal line work, which is a little surprising with Chris Rodriguez there. And the workload has been like, he's getting 50 to 55, 60% of the running back turn. So I think, and the eyeball test adds to it. It's a great offense.
I think playing him as a running back too, playing him what he's demonstrated he's been right now is exactly, this is exactly what you hope for when you drafted him. Remember, he's being drafted right outside the running back too range, like running back 26, 27, 25, somewhere right there. You were hoping when you drafted him that, hey, that he makes good and gets enough work to really give you a solid running back two numbers. I think he's there. I think we are there. And I think they're going to be, you know, once you enter running back two territory, there are going to be some running back one weeks.
Dave Kluge (3:29)
So Sumer Sports, they're doing a great job right now with some of their new player tracking and advanced analytics that they've been putting out there. And they have a metric showing how many times a running back gets up to 15 miles per hour. Like that shows burst, it shows ability to find open space. Right now, Bashal Tootin is leading the league. 15 of his rushing attempts have gone for 15 plus miles per hour. To put that into perspective, Jamir Gibbs is second with 13, Kenneth Walker and Bijan Robinson are second with 11 So I mean, this is like a, you know, you talk about a spark plug, that's exactly what Bashal Tootin has been for this offense. But let's keep going down, talking about some more running backs. These guys are risers by attrition more than anything else. But Jalen Wright, Ali Gordon, Big Riser is coming out of this week with Devon H and going down with a seizing ending ACL tear. So let's talk about this for a minute, Bob.
