Most people are simply reacting to news as it comes in, but Bob Harris and I are staring into our crystal balls. We're trying to read the tea leaves and see who is going to be the big risers and fallers before they actually happen. And we got more information coming out of week two. We can draw more conclusions here. And Bob, let's go ahead and start with some of the rising quarterbacks Brock Purdy right now, looking unbelievable. He is leading the league in EPA, completion percentage over expectation on target percentage, and he's the QB forward in fantasy football. Can he maintain this pace or do you expect him to come crashing back down to earth at some point?

Bob Harris (0:44)

Well, attrition is going to have a say in this at some point, although maybe not. Like, you know, if we concentrate all the targets to the top players, and referring to Marcus Robinson as the latest wide receiver to get hurt, Bill and I are, that leaves the Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Mike Evans, who's nicked up this week, and George Kittle as the primary weapons. And then a group of also rands, Jake Cowling, George Watson.

Dave Kluge (1:09)

Brandon Cooks?

Bob Harris (1:10)

Brandon Cooks just added it. We'll see if he can add something as well. Kaderil Hajj, the great Kaderil Hajj, I should say. So yeah, maybe this just concentrates it more. He still has the firepower to get it done. The schedule is not as forgiving going forward. We got the Cardinals this week, so kind of middle of the road. But after that, the Broncos, then the Seahawks coming up the next two weeks. That will be a test of Brock Purdy. But we got to remember, I believe it was in our base camp conversations. I think it was Jason Wood pointed out, only three quarterbacks have been top 10 in points per game in each of the last three years. Brock Purdy is one of those three.

So if you believe in Mike and Kyle Shanahan's scheme, Brock Purdy knows how to operate that effectively. That's why he's on the field and probably a good reason why he has as much success as he does.

Dave Kluge (1:59)

Yeah. I mean, he is just a master of this system. I don't know if you saw the quote going around earlier this week where he was talking about, I'm like half of his throws. He said he can't even see the receiver, that he just trusts the system and knows where the receiver is going to be, and just kind of blindly throws it up there. And then on top of that, nobody's confusing Brock Purdy for a Lamar Jackson or anything like that. But there's just enough rushing up side, yeah, yeah.

Bob Harris (2:20)

He's not immobile.

Dave Kluge (2:21)

He's not immobile. Yeah, he's a scrabbler.

Bob Harris (2:23)

More than the Tom Brady phone booth mobility. It's greater than that, but it's not Lamar Jackson. But there's a sweet spot for him.

Dave Kluge (2:30)

Yeah, so I am very much so of the belief that Brock Purdy is going to continue being a top 10 quarterback as he's been each of the last three years, as you mentioned. And this is why we talked about him in a preseason episode we did talking about our favorite values at every position. Brock Purdy was a guy that we agreed on, was one of the best players you could have drafted in fantasy. We've got a lot more risers and fallers that we are going to be bringing your way, but before we do that, like this video. There's a reason I ask for it at the start of every single episode because it helps this video grow and we are trying to grow this channel, so give us that thumbs up. If you are new here, we are bringing you daily fantasy content Monday through Friday. So go ahead and subscribe. Come back tomorrow when I'm doing starts and sits with Julia Papworth. Friday, I'll be doing match up previews with Jeff Bell. Then we're coming back next week for the recaps, the waivers and more risers and fallers with Bob Harris and I every single week Monday through Friday. So subscribe, like all that good stuff. But let's talk about another rising quarterback here, Bob. Bryce Young.

I don't think anybody, there's a person in the world who would have predicted that Bryce Young would be the QB2 behind Josh Allen through the first couple of weeks. Has he finally taken that step forward and broken out as a legitimate quarterback?

Bob Harris (3:33)

Maybe. The pieces are there, right? Like we saw this one year or two, there was a game against the Chiefs where he started like all at once. It's like, oh, up to that point, like, what the hell have they done here? It was at the moment I said, oh, yeah, all the things they talked about him, a fast processor, able to make good decisions, all those things. But it wasn't persistent. Then last year, it was still not persistent, but it was up and down. There would be fantastic weeks with horrible weeks in between. This year, we have two good games this year, three in a row if we go back to the Rams playoff game. But also, one of them was against Chicago this year, the other was against Atlanta, who went down like three top stars and then AJ Carroll gets hurt. So I don't want to read too much into it. But look, Dave Canales seems to have installed a really good offense. They seem to be on the same page. Chuba Hubbard is being a dominant force at running back and giving some work as a receiver. And the receiving corps has come around.
