Hello everybody, welcome to the Rotoworld Football Show. It's our week three Sunday recap. We're breaking down the entire Sunday slate. Sans Sunday Night Football, Denny. I never say that word out loud. Hopefully, it's how you actually say it.
Denny Carter (0:27)
I believe it's Sans.
Patrick Daugherty (0:29)
Say it could be Sans, I guess. We're not going to have Sunday Night Football.
We're going to have everything else. Unfortunately, Denny, everything else includes another injury apocalypse. I really think anecdotally the past few years, injuries had been going down. They are skyrocketing in 2026
Fallout just everywhere across the league. That includes some of the games I'll be talking with Denny, Devin A. Chan lost to the Dolphins, Justin Jefferson banged up for the Vikings, Baker Mayfield dislocated thumb for the Bucs. We'll talk those two games in just a little bit, but we'll start with Jaguars 35, Patriots 6, Denny Carter. No major fantasy injuries that is in this game, save for maybe some injuries to people's egos, especially on the Patriots. I saw some people quote joking, the Patriots need to get Tommy DeVito into this game.
It was a dominant Jags performance. Well, we have to start there, I feel like, where Drake may, I mean, three straight games of just turgid nonsense. Yeah.
Rivers McCown (1:33)
Just awful, awful, awful stuff.
Patrick Daugherty (1:35)
I mean, he's missing AJ Brown, but what has happened to our MVP runner up?
Denny Carter (1:41)
Look, the term schedule merchant comes to mind from last year, but he's not even doing the easy stuff. Like, he's missing open throws in the intermediate areas. He did that a couple of times in the first half today, which I just was like, I almost like gasped at some of the throws. They're just so inaccurate. The offensive line is real, real bad. We are. And it's getting worse. They suffered another injury to a backup today. Didn't look good. So I don't know how they're going to get out of this beyond just playing easier teams.
Drake May, negative EPA per drop back today? Like, negative. That's insane, especially for a Russian quarterback. That's just not something you really see.
So I don't think, we talked on Thursday's show, you, me and Kyle about like... Do you bench him? And I kind of think the answer is yes.
Patrick Daugherty (2:37)
I was in Fantasy, to be clear. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Denny Carter (2:40)
Let me be clear.
Patrick Daugherty (2:41)
In Fantasy, we already had him outside of the top 12 He's gonna fall further outside the top 12 You mentioned the schedule needing to lighten up. I guess from a defensive standpoint, it kind of does in week four. That's a road trip to Buffalo. Yeah. And that was kind of a defensive game between the Bills and the Chargers on Sunday, but those usually project as higher scoring affairs. And the Patriots do not project. As a team that can match points right now. Denny, drink me.
Three starts, one total touchdown, six interceptions. It doesn't include as fumbles. I mean, that is the kind of stuff, we're benching them in fantasy.
I mean, it's almost inconceivable the Patriots could bench him. But this went on for two or three more games. He might get a clear his head.
Denny Carter (3:24)
There would there would be some chatter.
Patrick Daugherty (3:26)
I think the chatter would be hashed.
Denny Carter (3:28)
I mean, variable looks like he's in absolute hell on the sideline.
And and like he just doesn't know. It looks like they just don't have answers. I will say Jake may fumble twice today. He was lucky he got one of them back, but it's it's a mess. This offense is a mess. I don't think that AJ Brown would make a that big of a difference. He would help, but not that big of a difference.
Patrick Daugherty (3:49)
I actually agree with that. That might sound like kind of an absurd thing on its face to say, but kind of like he's not slow, but a big outside guy just doesn't seem like what's solving these issues right now. It seems like maybe it'd be more opportunities for Drake may interceptions trying to force the ball to the boundary.
AJ Brown, not really known for improving the mood in the locker room. Yeah, that's no idea what would be going on there. You said it's a mess. I mean, Matt Collins leading your team and receiving is a mess to me. Anything of note, these Patriots, past catchers.
Denny Carter (4:22)
I mean, today, look, today he operated as the number one. I don't know if that's going to hold up. But nine targets led the team easily. No one else saw more than five. He caught six for 87 Almost had a bigger day, almost came down with a 25, 30-yard catch in the first half. Like Romeo Dobbs is secondary, Pop Douglas is barely there. Hunter Henry is not a thing, even though Eli Raritan didn't play today.
