Week 3 Love/Hate

Matthew Berry (0:08)

Well, it is 9 a.m. on the East Coast here in the Happy Hour Bar. But you know what? I tell you, it is 5 o'clock somewhere. So brothers and sisters, friends of the revolution, I'm your old pal Matthew Berry, your friendly neighborhood bartender, and it is Love Hate Day. It's Love Hate Day. We're very excited. Thank you so much for joining us. Thank you to the regulars. A couple of quick pieces of business before we get in to Love Hate, and we bring in our guests today. Number one is in case you missed the announcement yesterday, I am headed to Roku. I'm taking my talents to Roku. I'm like proud fantasy life investor LeBron James. I'm taking my talents to Roku. It doesn't mean I'm disappearing from the YouTube channel. It doesn't mean I'm disappearing from Spotify or Apple or wherever you get your podcasts. You will still get Fantasy Football Happy Hour wherever you get your podcasts. You will still be able to watch Fantasy Football Happy Hour. You'll see clips of it, long clips of it, on the Matthew Berry YouTube channel and wherever you follow me on social media. If you do, I hope you do, at MatthewBerryTMR.

But, except on Snapchat where I'm at MatthewBerry1, because for some reason. Anyway, but I don't snap all that much. I usually, candidly, I just use Snapchat to talk to my kids. It's the easiest way for me to get a hold of my kids.

All right, but what I want to talk about is, but so the Roku show starts at noon Eastern on Monday the 28th. I'm going to go 12 to 2 And if you would like to participate in the Roku show, which is similar to how the regulars participate in this show, the answer, the easiest way to do it will be two ways. Number one is to tweet at me, to tweet at me at MatthewBerryTMR.

And also in the Discord, we're going to create a specific Roku show channel within the Fantasy Football Happy Hour Discord.

If you're watching this on YouTube, just go to the description. There is a link to join the Discord. It is free. It's easy. Even if you've never joined Discord, all you got to do is click a link and you download the app and it's super easy. I promise you, if I can do it, anyone can do it. So, I'm very excited as DJChef says, yeah, DJChef.fresh. Barry, the talented Mr. Roku. Hashtag remix. I like that. The talented Mr. Roku. That's right. I'm all in on the Roku. I have to come up with a dumb, rejected Roku mascot now.

Anyway, so, but I'm very excited. I couldn't be more excited about the Roku show. Pre-game with Matthew Berry. They put my name in the title. It's going to be two hours. The first hour is going to be general sports talk. It's going to be pop culture. It's going to be celebrity interviews. It's going to be nonsense. You know, it's a Matthew Berry show, right? And the second hour will be Fantasy Football Happy Hour. That will be the second hour. So, one to two will be the, will be what you'll hear on the podcast. That'll be the audio portion of the show that is all the fantasy. So, more of the same, slightly differently. I hope you will come along with me. It's been a fun journey as I've gone out of my own and gone full time to fantasy life. And one of the best things about going full time to fantasy life is I've gotten the opportunity now to work with my fantasy life brethren, my colleagues, my friends, my colleagues, my pals, my amigos and my amigas. Like my buddy, my pal, my partner in crime, Kendall Valenzuela at Kendall V. There she is.

Kendall Valenzuela (3:37)

Hello.

Matthew Berry (3:38)

Poor Kendall. Kendall lives in LA. She lives in Los Angeles or just outside of Los Angeles with her husband. You guys just bought a new house. I know.

And it is the crack of dawn there. But you look at you. You look all bright and chipper. Kendall Valenzuela, you are the best. You are. I want to give me a second here before I even let you talk by May. And we're coming up with love hate. We've got love hate in a minute. I promise you. We've got some news and then we got some love hate coming up. But I think Kendall Valenzuela, we've hired a lot of people at Fantasy Life over the years. And many of them are great. Some of them not so much, to be honest with you.

And we've had a couple of duds, but they're no longer with us. But overall, for the most part, everyone we've hired has been awesome. So it's a high bar to clear. And I don't think there's anyone that I've hired whose work I enjoy more, who I'm prouder of than Kendall Valenzuela. Of course, Kendall, we all follow you at KValenzuela17 on social media. But Kendall, you are a rocket ship. And I love you. And I will tell you, because so many people, so many people in the industry come knocking, because they see what I see, that Kendall's just a rock star.
