This episode is brought to you by Chevrolet.

Chevy drivers need a truck that shows up the same way they do. That's why Chevy Silverado is number one in manufacturer loyalty, so they can go where others won't. Make their own way there and always get it done. And as long as Chevy people keep showing up, we'll keep building trucks that do the same. Chevrolet, together, let's drive. Visit chevy.com/trucks to explore the lineup.

This episode is brought to you by Nationwide. Everyone knows that to win in fantasy, you need players that can be so much more. The QB that can throw for 400 yards and rush for a touchdown. The defense that can snag a pick six. Or the running back who can also bring in 15 receptions. It's like how Nationwide is so much more than a great insurance company. They're one of America's largest financial services companies too.

Now that gets the start. For your insurance and financial needs, Nationwide is on your side.

Welcome to The Ringer Fantasy Football Show. My name is Danny Heifetz and I'm joined by Danny Kelly and Craig Horlbeck. Today, we are going over all the must add players. After week one, entering week two, we're going to go through trivia style, trivia's back, baby. Deke, are you excited?

Danny Kelly (1:33)

I cannot wait. This is the best thing that we do because it makes us look like absolute morons. How much does a cloud weigh?

Zero is what I would say.

Craig Horlbeck (1:41)

You'd think that we look like morons enough trying to get fantasy football advice, and we thought, no, let's raise the ante and answer questions about literally any subject in the world.

Danny Heifetz (1:51)

So we're going to go through that. And again, your draft is like kind of the beginning of the season, but realistically, like titles can be won on waivers sometimes. It just it just goes like that sometimes. So we're going to help myself.

Craig Horlbeck (2:02)

Yikes.

Danny Heifetz (2:03)

Yeah, you're not doing great. You all right there, bud?

Craig Horlbeck (2:06)

Coker. Coker's in a boot. God.

Danny Heifetz (2:10)

We're going to go through waivers, but first, we're going to take a conveniently timed advertising break.

This episode is presented by Verizon. Let me tell you all about Verizon's new Simplicity Plan. You get one plan, one price, just $30 a line per month, even for a single line.

So while everyone is running four trade analyzers before offering a backup tight end, Verizon said one plan, one price. Sometimes the simplest move is the best one, like the Simplicity Plan. Head to verizon.com today. For new customers who switch to Verizon, $30 per line includes auto pay and switch discount, additional taxes, fees and terms apply.

Danny Kelly (2:52)

Do you guys think that it's better to have a good long season or to just feel good about your team after one week? That like feeling like the depths of despair I feel about some of my teams after one week is arguably worse than just like not winning a championship.

Craig Horlbeck (3:08)

I have a remarkable tendency to begin every season one and three. It's like a thing in my league. And then I claw back every year, but I'm always one in three.

Danny Kelly (3:16)

Oh, it's so depressing.

Danny Heifetz (3:19)

Something about the nature of winning. This is going to sound like a brag, but it's not. It's the disease of the mind. OK, that Traders Alley League. And I like you think I'd be happy. I've won that league three of four years. I think I think about taking Matthew Golden over Luther Burden.

Twelve times more often than I think about winning the league. Yeah, I literally just get depressed that I don't have Luther Burden, and I have to remind myself that I actually am the reigning champion.

Danny Kelly (3:47)

You're actually too literally too busy winning.

Danny Heifetz (3:49)

And I actually the championship does not offset. I like I actually have to manually remind myself that I won the league because I just get really sad every time you see Matthew Golden.

Craig Horlbeck (3:59)

That's torture. People are weird.

Danny Kelly (4:01)

I think my thing with like what I was talking about is when I after all the build up, all the off season, the draft, you feel so good. You're like rostrobating to your team. It feels so good. Like your team is awesome. And then the actual football hits in week one and your team is absolute dog shit. I don't know if there's anything worse.
