This episode is brought to you by Nationwide. Everyone knows that to win in fantasy, you need players that can be so much more. The QB that can throw for 400 yards and rush for a touchdown. The defense that can snag a pick six or the running back, who can also bring in 15 receptions. It's like how Nationwide is so much more than a great insurance company. They're one of America's largest financial services companies, too. Now that gets the start for your insurance and financial needs. Nationwide is on your side.

Danny Heifetz (1:19)

Welcome to The Ringer Fantasy Football Show. My name is Danny Heifetz, and I'm joined by Danny Kelly, Craig Horlbeck, and the New York Giants are undefeated and other things from week one of the NFL season. Football is here. It's happening. And Danny Kelly, the Giants have never lost under John Harbunst. Never happened.

Danny Kelly (1:34)

I got to say masterful job with the reverse jinx. All that talk about Dak Prescott beating the Giants every single time, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Expertly done by you. The Giants absolutely dominated this game. I can't wait to talk about how lackluster the Cowboys looked in this game.

Craig Horlbeck (1:50)

Well, we could go a couple of ways with this one. DK, do you think Heifetz has been reversed jinxing for months? Because I feel like in May and June, all of us collectively were like, if you have to pick who the 2025 Patriots of this year are, no, we were like, the Giants are going to be great. Oh, right. We were like, Dart look good. Like, they have the defensive line, neighbors is coming back, Dart. And then we kind of completely got off them because Harbaugh had an embarrassing speech where he seemed senile.

Danny Kelly (2:17)

Right, that whole thing.

Craig Horlbeck (2:19)

Yes. And the question I would ask to you, DK, is the classic question. Better win for the Giants or worse loss for the Cowboys?

Danny Kelly (2:29)

I think I have to.

Craig Horlbeck (2:30)

Oh, my gosh.

Danny Kelly (2:31)

That's actually really hard because the Giants, the dude, the Cowboys looks horrific today. I would say better win for the Giants, exercise the demons. I mean, there's just so many things that feel good about the Giants right now. Like, Kamps Gadwee look great. Isaiah likely looks like an absolute game changer. Jackson Dart was totally efficient.

The offensive play calling tandem of Greg Roman and Matt Nagy absolutely picked apart the Cowboys.

Harbaugh didn't make a really embarrassing speech, at least that I saw yet. Maybe that'll be coming later. But yeah, overall.

Craig Horlbeck (3:03)

That was the other Harbaugh who had an embarrassing presser today.

Danny Kelly (3:06)

Right. And then Neighbors look great too. So just all good things for the Giants. I would say it was a very good win for them, exercising the demons and not being able to beat the Cowboys for a very long time.

Craig Horlbeck (3:16)

I think it was the biggest eight-point blowout I've ever seen in my life.

Danny Kelly (3:19)

Seriously. Yeah.

Craig Horlbeck (3:22)

This game was never more than two scores apart. It was never more than 14 points apart. And yet this game felt like it was 40 to 7, the way that the individual units looked on the field. I have never seen more open pass catchers in my life than when the Giants receivers in tight ends against Dallas.

Austin Gayle (3:39)

This is the best.

Danny Kelly (3:40)

We are filibustering Heifetz right now.

Austin Gayle (3:44)

He will come in at the next segment.

Craig Horlbeck (3:45)

Don't let him talk. At the beginning of the game, I was so heavy on the Giants, being like the Giants look unbelievable. And I still feel that way. And I'm ready to say the Giants are going to make the playoffs because they look really, really good. I'll just pick them to win the NFC East. I don't give a fuck. But once Collinsworth was like, yeah, the Cowboys, they don't have a game plan for throwing it out to the flat. And then the next play, they threw it again out to the flat. To Devon Singletary for a touchdown. I was like, oh, this might be the worst defense in the league.
