You could win it. So it is not impossible to think that your number two quarterback might actually be your number one quarterback despite the fact that they did not win the job at Fall Camp.
So if Tristan Ti'a isn't capable of coming in and being your guy, then you don't have the guy on the roster, which is crazy. With the resources available to you, that guy has to be on the roster. Fan after fan keeps coming at me, Ceasar, and they're always like, you know what, what's it going to take for Golesh? What's it going to take for Golesh to bench Byrum?
I don't think it happens unless the wheels are falling completely off the wagon at this point because he doesn't seem willing to admit even a little. I mean, the Byrum might be some of the problem.
C-Dub (1:51)
And so there's there, there, there are two guys on offense that I think are so safe right now.
Byrum being one of them. But then again, Mike, one of the points that you guys have made was that, do you really want to put Tristan Ti'a out there behind that line?
Mike G (2:14)
Dial it up differently though, then, right?
I'm telling you, I've seen them do this, and I'm making the UCF example because it's crazy how closely these two teams parallel each other, right? They had like three linemen out for this game against Oklahoma State, and the quarterback was like 80 percent passing for most of the game. But they quick passes, quick short game. But Oklahoma State did not have a chance to affect the game with their pass rush despite the whole line being hurt because of the way that they called it. It was the only game plan that they could have held up offensively behind a hurt offensive line. And they just found a path to producing some offense. Now, they didn't even win the game.

Mike G (3:27)
Well, I'll tell you, that offense looked better than most of what I've seen from Auburn all year.
C-Dub (3:34)
So to me, I think that's been the most disappointing about the offense this year is you heard Golesh talk about how they won't even bring the same offense out there week after week and how you have to adapt offensively.
Yeah, show me, come on now. Like you can't keep why, why has Auburn failed to score a point on his first drive yet this season? Yeah, why aren't you adapting to that? Why is it the same thing?
Mike G (4:12)
We haven't scored a point on the first drive.
C-Dub (4:13)
They have not scored on their first drive yet. I think that includes Southern Miss.
Mike G (4:20)
That's rough. That's real rough.
By a very low bar, that's a very low bar to try to get over.
C-Dub (4:31)
Yeah, so to say that, hey, put a new quarterback in and call it different.
Mike G (4:43)
Yeah, black wingo says, I say, you do, do you roll with Ti'a next season or do they get a Portal QB when doing a roster evaluation?
If you did not trust their evaluation of Seattle, I don't think that's fair to say. I almost want to say, I just don't, I don't want to see them go spend $4 million on a Portal QB if it's going to limit investment on offensive line. Who, what was the example you gave Ike of the program that spent all their money on offensive line in, was it Kentucky? Right, where they just built the trenches and, you know, the quarterback that they picked wasn't anybody that could write home about, but they're having a pretty good season.
Ike Jones (5:33)
Which again, it's not that he's not a good quarterback, it's just that nobody knew what they had in him. So it's not like there was some huge bidding war to get him. It was like, okay, he looked good out of high school. We don't know for real, but we're willing to take a shot on it, but we're going to put our money in this offensive line and give him a better chance of being successful.
