Hey, folks, it's Tim Murray, and here we are. College football season, long Saturdays ahead, and staying locked in for an entire day of football takes a little bit more than coffee. Loreen's new pouch is built exactly for that, without the nicotine. It works just like the pouches you've seen before. Tuck one in and go about your day. Each has 50 milligrams of caffeine, about half a cup of coffee, plus L-Theanine and Alpha-GPC for smooth, steady focus with no crash. And because it's Loreen, it's also got nano-hydroxyapatite, the mineral your teeth are made of, so it gives your daily enamel support in between brushings. It's smooth energy without the jitters, and it comes in mint, cinnamon, and mango, all nicotine-free. I love the cinnamon. Give Loreen a try. Chiefs got the ball back, Matt, 12.3 to go, second quarter, third and one facing, the Chiefs are facing a third and one, excuse me. Haven't seen vintage Patrick Mahomes through the air, but we did see vintage Patrick Mahomes on the ground, utilizing his legs for the game's first touchdown, seven to seven is the score. Bo Nicks touchdown pass to Evan Ingram as we get a third and one and Kenneth Walker picks up that third and one. A lot of Kenneth Walker so far tonight, Matt. Nine carries, 45 yards for the Super Bowl MVP.
Matt Youmans (1:59)
Yeah, and I think what you're seeing here tonight is Andy Reid saying, we're going to change our identity a little bit as an offense. And this is why they went out and got Kenneth Walker. They want to run a power ground attack.
This is what the Chiefs really haven't been able to do a lot of in the past. Tim, when they had third and one, they could not count on a running back who could pick up that first down. I think Andy Reid wanted to put a more physical offensive line out there, a more physical runner and not make this such a finesse offense where Patrick Mahomes has got to go out there and make some magic happen all the time. So it's interesting if you're thinking about betting Kenneth Walker rushing props going forward, I think you have to be more optimistic that he's going to get a bunch of carries and he's going to get plenty of opportunities to go over those numbers. Don't you think? I mean, it looks like Andy Reid really wants to run the ball. He's serious about it.
Tim Murray (2:48)
Well, sometimes you see these free agent running back deals and you make scratches your head a little bit because a team like Seattle Super Bowl champs said, yeah, you can go test free agency after you win MVP of the Super Bowl. And then the Chiefs came out and spend money on him. I tell you one thing, they're using him quite a bit as he has already got a reception and nine carries in this game. But Matt, you just saw that play on second and six. You saw a reason why maybe they are running the ball as much as they are, because it was a terrible snap. You didn't see the snap? I didn't see the snap. OK, it was a bad snap.
I thought Mahomes was bum rushed from the tackle position. All right. So it was a terrible snap.
Matt Youmans (3:28)
The center rolled the ball back to Mahomes as Creed Humphrey. That's one of the worst snaps you're ever going to see. I assume the ball just slipped out of his hands. And now we got third and six. Mahomes basically had to throw that away.
And we'll see if the Chiefs can convert here in third and long. Mahomes in the shotgun. He's going to fire out. That pass was deflected. And that's going to have to be a punt. I think the defensive end got his hand on that ball, didn't he?
Tim Murray (3:52)
I think it looks like it.
Matt Youmans (3:53)
I think Roach deflected that.
Tim Murray (3:54)
By the way, Matt, you and I mentioned it.
Matt Youmans (3:58)
Oh, no doubt about it. He deflected that ball, yes.
Tim Murray (4:00)
After the Evan Ingram touchdown, the live market got as high as 49 and a half. We have now seen a couple of three-and-outs, a couple of punts, total back down to 43 and a half, almost back to the pre-flop number of 42 and a half. So once again, that's why we sit here every Monday night and try to find the angles as we watch this game. And under 49 and a half was certainly a good angle as we get a punt and the Broncos will start at their own 12-yard line. So a punt from the Kansas City Chiefs, seven to seven is the score.
