We are off and running on a Tuesday night. Alongside Matt Youmans, I am Tim Murray, live from the Circus Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas. We've got game two of the ALCS, and a surprising start to this series as the Cleveland Guardians took a 1-0 series lead, coming back to win last night. We turn our attention to week seven of college football season, week six of the NFL season. As things wrapped up last night, Matt, more coaching blunders. We were talking about it all day Monday, and then Shaun McVeigh puts a cherry on top for more coaching blunders as the Buffalo Bills find a way to get that victory last night, 37-34 in overtime.
Matt Youmans (0:51)
A Twitter fodder from that game last night with the Rams blowing it against the Bills. We will cover that later in the show. We don't have to cover that now.
Tim Murray (0:58)
Yeah, we will certainly dive in to that. We got a plethora of hockey going on, all 32 teams in action tonight, as it is, I believe they're calling it the Frozen Frenzy today on ESPN.
Matt Youmans (1:10)
It's been going on for a few years now, where every team in the league plays on the same day. And I think that's a pretty cool thing that the NHL is actually doing.
Tim Murray (1:18)
Yeah, no, I agree. It started at 6 o'clock Eastern. Right now, we've got four games underway, a handful of other games about to get started. So, all 32 teams in action in the NHL. So, we'll keep our eyes on that. We do have weekday college football, little sunbelt in your, actually CUSA, I should say. Delaware, Middle Tennessee State, Delaware starting quarterback. He is out. So, that is why the line is as short as it is. Middle Tennessee catching one and a half at home. Florida International, Jacksonville State, that total sitting at 45 here at Circa. Jacksonville State, a home favorite of around two and a half or three. So, a lot to get to, Matt. But, most importantly, we do have game two of the ALCS. And that, of course, is our game of the night.

The lights are on and the stakes are high. It's the primetime game of the night.
Tim Murray (2:10)
Cleveland Guardians up 1-0 on the Tampa Bay Rays. Freddie Peralta will take the hill for the Tampa Bay Rays tonight as they hear at Circa short favorites minus $1.24 at Circa. Total, six and a half at a bunch of national shops here at Circa, actually up to seven. And as I look across the market, Matt, only a couple sevens are out there. Here at Circa, the South Point also has a seven, both juice under at minus $1.20. Parker Messick will take the hill for the Cleveland Guardians as they look to take a 2-0 series lead. After dropping the first two games of the ALDS, the Guardians have now won four in a row, come back win last night, knocking out the ace of the Rays staff, Rasmussen. And can the Guardians, Matt, take a 2-0 series lead in the ALCS?
Matt Youmans (3:01)
Of course they can. Will they? I don't know if they will. Who knows? If you knew it and I knew it, we'd make the biggest bet of the year on this. I have no idea what's gonna happen in this game. I mean, last night, everything was set up for the Rays.
They had the situational advantage with the rest at home. The Guardians coming off of a five-game series against the White Sox. Their pitching had been spent. And yeah, Drew Rasmussen on the mound. And the Tampa Bay Rays were 12-0 in his last 12 starts. And guess what, Tim? They had a two-nothing lead and lost the game. And I believe it went over the total too, right? And it looked like it was gonna be a dead under. So I feel like you're guessing at some of these games. And if I bet this tonight, I'd be guessing. It looks like right now at Circa, Rays are minus 129, up from 124 And that's pretty consistent with the rest of the market. I'm seeing 130, 135, whatever. You know, the home favorite drops game one. I think the home favorites probably gonna draw more action in game two, typically. Rays are a 98-win team. They swept the Yankees, right? So you gotta have some respect for this team. And I think that if I had to play it, I would play the home favorite tonight. The price is not prohibitive here.
So that would probably be the way to go. Freddie Peralta, his last five starts, ERA right around one, and the Rays five and oh. In those five starts. That trend meant nothing last night with Drew Ratz, you mustn't know. And by the way, Messick is a rookie, but in his career against the Rays, he's got an ERA right around one.
