Will Hill, Matt Youmans here, VSiN Primetime on a Friday night. It is a football and a baseball Friday night. Here we'll update NFL preseason action. Our game of the night is on MLB side, however, and that's Red Sox Yankees. Some would say the greatest rivalry in sports. And the Yankees lead 1-0 right now. Bottom of the sixth in the, top of the sixth in the Bronx, one out and nobody on the bases for the Red Sox. Cam Schiltler is still on the mound. That is our game of the night here on Primetime. And so far, it's lived up to the hype. We'll see if Cam Schiltler can get through sixth inning here. Will Hill, but it's been more of the same for the Yankees, right? It's been really good pitching and very inconsistent offense.
Some would say anemic offense in terms of the Yankees while they wait for Aaron Judge to return. You were at the game in the Bronx last Friday night. You saw the Yankees win 3-1 behind Cam Schiltler against Blue Jays. What's your read on this Yankees team at this point? Is it just a wait until Aaron Judge returns? And you're going to feel much better about this team in September.

**Will Hill** (1:21)
Yeah, unfortunately for the Yankees, I would say the offense has been consistent. Consistently, pretty mediocre, and mediocre might be putting it kindly. Now, Luis Garcia Jr., that bat has come alive. And for Yankee fans, I mean, there's a little Robbie Cano to him with the, just the way he's able to put the barrel on the ball. You know, it's, Bellinger's come back.
Judge, you think it seems like he's closer than, you know, we might have thought. I mean, look, we're approaching September, and you and I have been doing these shows all winter, all spring, and the timeline for me and you was always, what, September 1st, maybe a couple of weeks after. So I think a couple of weeks away for Judge, but Freed is coming back tomorrow, and I was just, you know, the term I keep using, Matt, it's like Whac-A-Mole with the Yankees, where one guy gets hurt and, all right, he's back, somebody else get hurt. Ryan Weathers is hurt, Freed is hurt, Freed comes back, somebody else gets hurt, stands out for the year.
I don't know, I mean, when they're healthy, they're clearly the best teams, but they're probably gonna have to go through the best two out of three, and they're probably gonna have to play Boston, which is not an easy series, and it's just, they keep battling these injuries. So until we see Judge back, and what version of Judge we get, it's hard to say, but in a watered-down American League, when they're healthy, they're the best team. It's just, I'm not sure we're gonna see them healthy here, and we'll see if they can win it, you know, 80, 90% of themselves. And once again, in the playoffs, it's obviously a crap shoot, but I would not bet on them right now with their odds, but life on the line, if I had to, this would probably be the interesting question. Life on the line, who comes out of the American League?
And I'm usually skeptical. I'd probably still say the Yankees, but I would not feel great about it under any circumstance. I'll ask you the same question. Life on the line, who comes out of the American League? Where would you go with?

Well, first of all, I would not want my life on the line hinging on that answer being correct. So by the way, Schlitler just walked and that's going to be the end of the night for him. He's a 102 pitches. He lost his control five walks for him tonight. And with two outs in the sixth, Aaron Boone is going to make that long walk to pull Cam Schlitler from the game. I don't disagree with this because he definitely lost his control there at the end. And at 102 pitches go to the bullpen. That usually blows up in the faces of the Yankees when Boone does this, but probably the right move here with Schlitler. It looked like he was definitely tired. Yeah, I would not want my life on the line here, but I would say the Yankees would still be my bet to win the American League, but I don't have a lot of confidence in that. By the way, the Yankees now with two outs and a runner on with a 1-0 lead in the sixth or minus 3-06 favorites at DraftKings.
